Quick fantasy outlook: Kyle Williams has been with the 49ers since he entered the league three years ago as the team's sixth-round draft pick. He is a small receiver well suited to play in the slot, but he has played only a minor role in the offense so far. He tore his ACL late last season, but could be ready for the start of training camp. (He is ahead fellow 49er receiver Mario Manningham in his recovery.) With the offseason injury to Michael Crabtree, the starting WR position opposite Anquan Boldin is wide open, and Kyle Williams will have a shot at it (along with A.J. Jenkins, Mario Manningham, and Quinton Patton). While Williams is an underdog to land the starting gig, he could easily get significantly more playing time in the slot this season. His fantasy value is purely speculative until the depth chart is more settled, but consider Williams a player to watch as a potential late-round sleeper if he looks good in training camp.
