WR Kasen Williams - Cleveland Browns
|6-3, 217||Born: 5-20-1992||College: Washington||Drafted: ---|
Week 12: at Cincinnati Bengals
FBG says: Bad matchup. There really isn't any way to say it other than DeShone Kizer is an absolute mess. The Browns passing game with a combination of DeShone Kizer and Cody Kessler over the last three weeks have been sacked 12 times, thrown three interceptions, and fumbled the ball three times of which they lost two of those. The good news for the Browns is that they got Corey Coleman back this past week and appear to be utilizing him heavily as he had 11 targets this past week and is the lone receiver on this Browns team that has above replacement level talent. The Bengals secondary has been one of the best defenses against the pass in the league as they are only averaging 200.6 yards per game which is the sixth best in football. Over the last four weeks, however, they are 15th in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and have faced Brock Osweiler, Marcus Mariota, and Blake Bortles, so while this is a good unit, it is not an elite unit as they are decimated with injuries. The Bengals are without one of their best corners Adam Jones as he is still dealing with a concussion and appears unlikely to play this week. The good news for the Bengals is that their pass rush should have a field day against this Browns passing game as the Bengals are fourth in the NFL in terms of sacks and the Browns are fourth in sacks allowed this season.

2017 Week 6 vs HOU (6 / 4 / 41 / 0 rec)
Williams continues to flash some potential as a big-bodied receiver but it is hard to tell exactly what the Browns have in him considering the poor quarterback play. Williams had several chances to have a big game, but Kevin Hogan's accuracy issues held him back. In the first quarter, Williams had a 17-yard catch negated by an illegal block in the back penalty called on Isaiah Crowell. In the second quarter, Williams was targeted on a deep pass down the middle but was overthrown by Hogan. In the fourth quarter, Williams saw another deep target come his way close to the goal line. He was unable to make the catch but did draw a pass interference penalty which put the Browns at Houston's three yard line.
2017 Week 5 vs NYJ (5 / 4 / 33 / 0 rec)
Although it didn't show up in the box score, Williams showed the ability to make contested catches against the defense. He drew a red zone target from the Jets' eight-yard line but was only able to pick up four yards. Williams also had a 29-yard catch overturned after a challenge revealed he didn't get both feet down inbounds. It was still an impressive catch in which he leapt and fought off the defender for the ball. Williams has shown the ability to make tough, contested catches in his limited playing time.
Latest NewsBrowns | Kasen Williams signed to practice squad (Sat Nov 18, 05:34 PM) - The Cleveland Browns signed WR Kasen Williams to their practice squad Saturday, Nov. 18. Our View: Undrafted out of Washington in 2015 (Bengals), Williams is a strong receiver who flashed in the preseason for the Seahawks this year (nine passes for 208 yards and one touchdown.) He was a player to watch when the Browns added him to their active roster, but then he was released to make room for WR Corey Coleman. Now that he's on the practice squad, Williams gets to see if he can further develop his skill set.
