Week 12: vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. Matt Hasselbeck did enough to defeat Atlanta last week - 23/32 for 213 yards passing, two TDs and two interceptions thrown, with both TDs going to Ahmad Bradshaw (four targets for 4/20/2 receiving). Donte Moncrief led the team in targets with eight for 5/41/0 receiving, while Frank Gore led in yards with five for 5/46/0. T.Y. Hilton, usually a favorite of Hasselbeck, had just four targets for 2/21/0 receiving on the day. The Buccaneers' pass D is ranked 13th in the NFL averaging 234.6 net yards allowed per game, with 21 passing scores given out vs. 10 interceptions (tied for 11th in the NFL) and 23 sacks (tied for 15th) generated this year. Last week, Mark Sanchez threw 26/41 for 247 net yards, two TDs and three interceptions while taking three sacks for -14 yards from Tampa. Dallas threw 19/30 for 174 net yards, zero TDs and one interception with three sacks taken for -12 yards from Tampa two games ago. Over the past four weeks, the Buccaneers have allowed the ninth-least fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks (17.6); the tenth-least fantasy points to opposing wideouts (18.7), and were 16th vs. opposing tight ends (8.9 fantasy points allowed per game on average). This looks like a tougher-than-usual matchup for Hasselbeck and company.

Recent Game Summaries
2015 Week 11 vs ATL (3 / 2 / 20 / 0 rec)
While Whalen doesn't have the same chemistry with Matt Hasselbeck as he does Andrew Luck, he was able to grab a couple third-down receptions again on Sunday. Still, his work will be limited as long as the team continues to rely on tight-end heavy formations. Whalen played just 14 snaps on Sunday.
2015 Week 9 vs DEN (6 / 5 / 73 / 0 rec)
The Colts have been looking for a possession receiver that Luck could trust ever since Reggie Wayne went down with an injury back in 2013. Andre Johnson was supposed to fill that role, but he's been a huge disappointment for Indianapolis. Meanwhile, Griff Whalen continues to make big plays when the team needs them. Whalen didn't dominate the Broncos, but he made several critical plays that helped the Colts move the ball on key possessions. The first was a 38-yard out-and-up, as Whalen took advantage of a matchup with a linebacker to get plenty of separation down the left sideline. The other was a key 18-yard post on the game's final drive, as Luck converted a 3rd-and-10 to keep the drive alive. Whalen's role isn't going to be as big against teams with lesser corners on the outside, as T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief will eat up targets, but with Chudzinski's focus on the middle of the field and Phillip Dorsett out, Whalen could see a couple more weeks of high usage.
2015 Week 8 vs CAR (5 / 5 / 48 / 0 rec)
With rookie Phillip Dorsett out with an injury, Whalen made a few big receptions as a possession receiver during the Colts' fourth-quarter, no-huddle rally on Monday. He did seem to lose the game for Indianapolis with a diving catch attempt on fourth down late in the game, where the ball appeared to hit the ground. But, the play was ruled a catch on the field, and there was not enough to overturn the call. It was the second-most receiving yards of Whalen's career, and it's not likely to continue, even with Dorsett out for a few more weeks.
2015 Week 6 vs NE (3 / 2 / 30 / 1 rec)
Whalen got four snaps on Sunday, but took advantage with an 18-yard touchdown pass as the Colts tried to make a quick comeback attempt. Whalen won't play over the top four receivers, however, and future production isn't likely.
