Week 16: vs Seattle Seahawks
Mark and Joe say: Bad matchup. These teams just clashed during Week 12 - Arizona had just one field goal to their name during the game, so none of their players were game-winners for their fantasy owners - Andre Ellington (now on IR) led the team in rushing with 10/24/0 on the ground, adding 5/39/0 receiving to his total.
Since Ellington was lost for the season, the Cardinals are making do with a committee of Kerwynn Williams (15/75/0 rushing and 2/11/0 receiving last week) and Stepfan Taylor (14/61/0 rushing). The committee is likely to continue as Drew Stanton is now lost for four weeks or more due to knee ligament injuries, and the Cardinals are down to their third-stringer Ryan Lindley or Logan Thomas at quarterback.
The Seattle rush D has been hitting hard of late, knocking out Frank Gore (concussion) and Carlos Hyde (ankle) last weekend, but they did allow 32/140/1 to the 49ers. Two weeks ago Philadelphia was held to 22/57/0 rushing - to date, the Seahawks are ranked fifth in the NFL averaging 88.1 rushing yards allowed per game, with eight rushing scores handed out over 14 contests.
This looks like a bad assignment for the Arizona backups, as Seattle can stack the box and blitz Lindley or Thomas all day long.
