News you need to know
General News (Fri Dec 19): did not practice on Friday (he was excused) but is still expected to play this week.
Week 16: at Dallas Cowboys
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Andrew Luck posted 18/34 for 187 yards passing, two TDs and one interception vs. the Texans last week - unfortunately, the usual Texan-slayer, T.Y. Hilton, tweaked his hamstring during the game and was ineffective after the injury (eight targets for 4/50/0 receiving). Hakeem Nicks (two for 2/44/1) and Dwayne Allen (four for 2/16/1) were the recipients of Luck's TD passes last week, while Coby Fleener saw five targets for 2/32/0 receiving. We'll see if Luck can rev up this attack to it's normal high-octane level here in Week 16. The Cowboys' pass D is ranked 23rd in the NFL averaging 249.6 net passing yards allowed per game, with 20 passing TDs given up vs. 14 interceptions and 23 sacks generated so far this season (tied for 11th- and 28t-ranked, respectively). Mark Sanchez threw 17/28 for 219 net yards, zero TDs and two interceptions against the Cowboys last week; Jay Cutler stung this D with 32/46 for 341 yards passing, two TDs and one interception thrown two weeks ago. Luck and company have a good shot at getting back on track against the Cowboys' sub-par pass D.

Recent Game Summaries
2014 Week 13 vs WAS (5 / 4 / 31 / 0 rec)
Wayne looked better against the Redskins than he did last week, but still only caught four catches for 31 yards. With other big-play threats emerging, Wayne isn't the high-volume producer that he once was. According to Pro Football Focus, Wayne has the fourth-lowest catch rate of receivers in the slot (at least 50 percent of snaps coming in the slot), and he's not getting the volume of targets he once did.
2014 Week 14 vs CLE (8 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)
It was a sad day for the Indianapolis legend, as Wayne had arguably his worst game of his career against the Browns and saw his league-record 82-straight games with at least three catches come to a close. Wayne has struggled to get open against man coverage this season, and that was a theme again on Sunday. The veteran got open a few times throughout the day, but dropped three passes and had an abysmal catch rate. He's been targeted 22 times over the last three weeks, but only has eight catches for 46 yards to show for it. He is dealing with age and multiple injuries, as Chuck Pagano let on in post-game comments, so don't be surprised if he rests over the next few weeks.
2014 Week 15 vs HOU (5 / 4 / 24 / 0 rec)
The veteran receiver continues to be limited, and averaged less than five yards per target on Sunday, with just one of his four catches going for a first down. Wayne was limited to short passes, as all four of his catches came within five yards of the line of scrimmage. His route-running was on display on Sunday, as he beat Kareem Jackson in man coverage twice, but he just doesn't have the mobility he once did. But, if T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief continue to stretch defenses, Wayne could find softer zones in coming weeks.
Latest NewsColts | Reggie Wayne should play (Fri Dec 19, 03:43 PM) - Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (rest) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 19, but is listed as probable for Week 16. Our View: Wayne just got some veteran rest. He needs it with his multiple injuries. TY Hilton is probably not going to play, so Wayne could be leaned on more by Andrew Luck, but he's still not a good play against he Cowboys.
link to story Colts | Reggie Wayne not at practice (Fri Dec 19, 11:46 AM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (triceps) is not participating in the portion of practice open to the media Friday, Dec. 19. Our View: Wayne might just be getting rest, but it is also possible that the Colts play him less than a full complement of snaps on Sunday with likely nothing to gain from winning the game at Dallas. Hakeem Nicks will be on the field a lot for the Colts this week.
link to story Colts | Reggie Wayne says he's fine (Fri Dec 12, 06:39 PM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (triceps), who is dealing with a torn triceps, said he is fine as long as he's on the field and playing, as he's expected to do in Week 15 against the Houston Texans. “If I’m out there playing, then I’m good,” Wayne said. “Point blank.” Our View: He can say that, but when we watch Wayne something looks off. Maybe it's age, maybe it's his injury....likely it's both. Fantasy owners should be making other plans until we see Wayne return to form (if he can).
link to story Colts | Reggie Wayne listed as probable (Fri Dec 12, 04:16 PM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (rest) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 12, and is listed as probable for Week 15. Our View: Wayne is too banged up to trust this week, but he could get a full complement of snaps and hurt Donte Moncrief's chances of coming through for owners pressed to put him this week because of injury or depth problems.
link to story Colts | Reggie Wayne affected by triceps (Tue Dec 9, 09:32 AM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (triceps) has been bothered by a torn left triceps muscle, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. The injury occurred Oct. 19 and was described as an elbow injury. Pagano was noncommittal on whether he'd continue to play Wayne. Our View: Wayne has seen better days. We love the upside of rookie WR Donte Moncrief and want to see him used more as Wayne's play declines.
