News you need to know
From Mark Wimer's Monday injury report (Mon Oct 27): Wayne was unable to practice last week due to his injured elbow, and he was inactive on Sunday after being listed as out on Friday.
General News (Thu Oct 30): did not practice on Thursday.
Week 9: at New York Giants
Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Andrew Luck is on an amazing tear through the NFL, with five games of 370 yards or more passing so far this season (including last week's 26/45 for 400 yards, with three TDs and two interceptions thrown at Pittsburgh) and seven-out-of-eight games with in excess of 300 yards passing. T.Y. Hilton is the sixth-ranked wide receiver in the land at the half-way point, with 53/866/2 receiving; Dwayne Allen is eighth among fantasy tight ends with 22/326/6; and Ahmad Bradshaw is fifth among fantasy running backs in the PPR paradigm with 76/371/2 rushing and 31/264/6 receiving. That's a studly collection of Colts, friends. The Giants' pass D is ranked 25th in the NFL averaging 262.4 net passing yards allowed per game, with 10 passing scores offset by 11 interceptions generated to date (second-most in the NFL). However, Luck has thrown 22 pass TDs vs. nine interceptions this year - he's not especially prone to turnovers. The Giants have 13 sacks this season (21st in the NFL). Tony Romo hit this group for 17/23 yielding 267 net yards, three TDs and one interception (two sacks for -12 yards) two weeks ago; Nick Foles threw 21/34 for 245 yards, two TDs and two interceptions, with one sack taken for -3 yards back in Week 6. This is a great matchup for Luck and company on Monday Night Football during Week 9.

Recent Game Summaries
2014 Week 6 vs HOU (9 / 4 / 35 / 0 rec)
Wayne was limited to short, quick passes for first downs on Thursday, a critical part of the real-life offense, but not so beneficial for fantasy owners. He had one deep pass over the middle overturned in the fourth quarter, which would have extended a drive for Indianapolis. Wayne is still Luck's security blanket, but with Hilton breaking out and the other young weapons, the Colts quarterback doesn't need his blanket quite as often as he used to.
2014 Week 7 vs CIN (8 / 4 / 15 / 0 rec)
It was a rough day for Wayne, who needed two screens in the fourth quarter to get his customary three catches. Wayne hurt his elbow early in the game, but was able to return. But, it seemed the injury may have affected him, and he struggled through the rest of the game. It could possibly cost him Week 8, pending results of an MRI. Wayne dropped at least two passes, and he's averaged less than 10 yards per catch in both of the last two games. He's due for a big game soon, but if he's hurting at all, Luck has other weapons to go to.
Latest NewsColts | Reggie Wayne not at practice (Thu Oct 30, 12:34 PM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (elbow) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 30. Our View: Wayne is just getting a bit more rest from his elbow injury here. If he plays on Monday night, it will reduce the number of targets for rookie Donte Moncrief. Have other options at the ready.

Our View: With Wayne out, Hakeem Nicks and Donte Moncrief will get more play against the generous Steelers defense.
Colts | Reggie Wayne won't play (Fri Oct 24, 01:00 PM) - Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (elbow) has officially been ruled out for Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our View: The Colts did not commit to Donte Moncrief or Hakeem Nicks as the replacement for Wayne, but Moncrief looks much more capable than Nicks and he's the pickup if you want to try to take advantage of this.
