Wayne lacks the top-15 upside that he had for most of his career but if he lands in New England, he has the mastery of routes and reliable hands to find the open zone and repeat the 60-catch, 700-yard campaign that he had last year. Wayne had bye-week or flex upside last year with that production. Thinking relative to where you can get Wayne, that's upside.

The New England Patriots recently signed former Colts receiver Reggie Wayne to a one-year contract. Wayne appeared to have very little left in the tank last season, though he was hampered by a triceps injury and making his way back from a torn ACL. The situation is fascinating as Brandon LaFell and Julian Edelman haven't been practicing at all this season. Wayne has a year away from his ACL injury and desperately wants that championship ring. Be cautious with him, as even if LaFell and Edelman are banged up all camp, Wayne may not be a huge part of the offense, but he might be worth a stash in deeper leagues in case we hear that either player has a serious injury. Patriots | Reggie Wayne lands $3 million deal (Tue Aug 25, 12:31 PM) - Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Reggie Wayne's one-year deal is worth up to $3 million, including incentives. He received a signing bonus near $500,000.

Our View: Nice work on the veteran's behalf. This is a lot more than the veteran minimum some were expecting him to land.

Patriots | New England adds Reggie Wayne (Mon Aug 24, 01:15 PM) - Free-agent WR Reggie Wayne (Colts) agreed to a one-year deal with the New England Patriots Monday, Aug. 24, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Unless Reggie Wayne found the fountain of youth in the offseason, he's unlikely to have a lot of fantasy relevance this year in New England. The exception to that might be if Brandon LaFell is not in a position to contribute much this year. If Wayne steps into LaFell's role, he might not be the fantasy WR2 LaFell was once he got rolling last year, but Wayne should still have good value as depth or even a PPR WR3/Flex in good matchups.

Packers | Reggie Wayne could take GB call (Mon Aug 24, 10:12 AM) - Free-agent WR Reggie Wayne (Colts) could receive interest from the Green Bay Packers if WR Jordy Nelson (knee) is out for the season.

Our View: Wayne doesn't have a ton left in the tank, but he could provide valuable veteran depth for the Packers. He's taken a physical with the Patriots this week, but no agreement has been worked out. Wayne should be on board with a new team in the near future.

Patriots | Pats meeting with Reggie Wayne (Sun Aug 23, 02:03 PM) - Free-agent WR Reggie Wayne (Colts) is meeting with the New England Patriots Sunday, Aug. 23, and will undergo a physical during the visit, according to sources.

Our View: With Brian Tyms, Aaron Dobson and now Brandon Gibson hurt, plus Brandon LaFell still on the PUP list, the Patriots are in dire need of WR help.
