From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Sep 29): Wayne had a little bit of rust early in the season coming back from an ACL tear, but he looked like his old self in the romp over the Titans. With Andrew Luck unleashed on the opposition, Wayne will have borderline WR1 value.

Recent Game Summaries

2014 Week 2 vs PHI (7 / 3 / 28 / 0 rec)

He's still Andrew Luck's option 1A, but Wayne was kept in check for much of Monday night, both by the Eagles and by Pep Hamilton's playcalling. A more run-heavy game plan meant less opportunities for Wayne, who excels when the offense gets in a rhythm moving down the field in spread sets. The Colts tried to get him involved with screens, but at 35, that's just not his game. Expect Wayne to bounce back in coming weeks, he still received seven targets against Philadelphia and was the second-most targeted receiver.

2014 Week 3 vs JAX (5 / 4 / 62 / 0 rec)

Wayne is still Luck's most reliable targets, but so far this season he's been used to draw coverage away from other more than anything else. He was still the Colts' second-leading receiver on Sunday, a day when the Colts chose to spread the wealth against a bad Jacksonville team. The kicker for Wayne will be touchdowns, which have been scarce so far this season. It's unlikely for the Colts to continue to target only running backs and tight ends in the red zone, as teams adjust to their play-action goalline sets, so Wayne could see more touchdown opportunities in the coming weeks.

2014 Week 4 vs TEN (8 / 7 / 119 / 1 rec)

Welcome back, Reggie Wayne. The veteran was back to being Andrew Luck's go-to guy in the second half of the Titans game, reeling in amazing catch after amazing catch. Wayne's day could be highlighted by two big plays. First came a one-handed beauty in the second quarter, snagging a high pass out of the air. The second was a perfect back shoulder pass from Luck on a go-route in the third quarter as the Colts blew the game open. Luck and Wayne's timing remain impeccable, and Wayne doesn't look like he's lost a thing since his surgery last year.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw, Reggie Wayne return (Thu Sep 25, 02:43 PM) - Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw and WR Reggie Wayne fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 25, after getting the day off Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Our View: We have Wayne as a WR3 and Bradshaw as a RB2. The Colts offensive line isn't great but Bradshaw has been successful despite that, while Wayne has clearly lost a few steps but has still been mildly effective for his fantasy owners.
