PK Blair Walsh - Minnesota Vikings
|5-9, 187||Born: 1-8-1990||College: Georgia||Drafted: Round 6|
Quick fantasy outlook: The Vikings drafted Walsh last year and handed him the starting job. Although he had a down senior year at Georgia, he was selected on the strength of his sophomore and junior seasons and a strong showing at the Scouting Combine. What appeared to some as a gamble paid off big. As a rookie Walsh made a nearly all of his plentiful field goal attempts, made an NFL record 10 of 10 field goals from 50+ yards, and was named to the Pro Bowl. This year he'll again be working with long snapper Cullen Loeffler, but will have a new holder. The Vikings made UCLA punter Jeff Locke the first specialist drafted and soon thereafter released Chris Kluwe. Elsewhere things look stable, with the key coaching staff members remaining intact from last year. After two years at (32nd) or towards (22nd) the bottom of the rankings in kicker scoring opportunities, the Vikings jumped up to 7th last year.
