Week 3: vs New York Giants

All TE vs NYG

FBG says: Tough matchup. It would not be surprising if the Texans offensive line is downgraded to the worst in the league this week after an abysmal showing against the Titans last week. Deshaun Watson was scrambling on nearly every play as his linemen could do nothing against the Titans front seven. Despite this pressure, Watson did manage to make a few big plays downfield as he surpassed 300 passing yards for two touchdowns and one interception. Considering the poor offensive line play, this was a nice bounce-back game for Watson after a questionable start to the season. DeAndre Hopkins continues to receive a heavy workload though, hauling in six of 11 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown last week. This was Watson's second week in a row with 11 targets as he holds down his spot as one of the highest-volume receivers in the league. Will Fuller made his season debut in stunning fashion as well, hauling in eight of nine targets for a team-leading 113 yards and a touchdown. Fuller looked sharp as he consistently gained separation while winning his matchups for most of the day. The Giants secondary has played well overall in two games this season, but they have faced off against a couple of run-first offenses in Jacksonville and Dallas. The Texans have a true WR1 in DeAndre Hopkins, so this week will be a true test for this unit. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins has played at an elite level for years and looked good overall this season, but he did give up a long touchdown to Tavon Austin last week. Eli Apple has been the top cornerback for the Giants this year with back to back outstanding outings now. He has been inconsistent throughout his career though, so lining up against DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller will help prove if his early success is for real. From a pass-rushing perspective, the Giants have really struggled with only one sack (fewest in the league) thus far. This is a great opportunity to get right as the Texans are weak at the tackle. Deshaun Watson is a highly athletic and mobile quarterback though, so the Giants would benefit from some well-timed blitz packages to rack up a few sacks this week.
