Recent Game Summaries
2018 Week 14 vs IND (4 / 4 / 31 / 0 rec)
The Texans are doing everything to make sure Jordan Thomas is on the field and he is becoming a reliable option for Deshaun Watson over the middle. Thomas had two receptions for 14 and 10 yards and he had a key one-handed snag on a 6-yard catch on a 4th down play. Thomas and Griffin remain the Texans top two tight ends getting the bulk of the work with the offense.
2018 Week 13 vs CLE (3 / 3 / 32 / 1 rec)
The young tight end shows signs of being a big play maker for the tight end position and then he will disappear at times. This week, Thomas was able to get back into the end zone with a 11 yard touchdown reception. Thomas was able to run a good out route and get away from a defender holding him in coverage. He also caught a check down pass for 15 yards filling the void where the defender was blitzing from. Thomas continued to evolve was a pass catcher which is a positive for Watson.
2018 Week 9 vs DEN (1 / 1 / 7 / 1 rec)
There was only one target thrown Jordan Thomas' way and it ended up a touchdown. Thomas was set up as the inline tight end and worked a corner route and caught a jump ball off the arm of Deshaun Watson for a 7-yard touchdown route.
2018 Week 8 vs MIA (4 / 4 / 29 / 2 rec)
The Texans tight end group finally got involved and rookie Jordan Thomas was the beneficiary on Thursday night. He caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Watson on a well designed play action then he snagged a 2-yard touchdown on a broken play where Watson threw across his body hitting him in an opening. Thomas is getting plenty of snaps with Ryan Griffin out with an illness but it has been a good stretch for the rookie.
2018 Week 3 vs NYG (2 / 2 / 53 / 0 rec)
The rookie tight end is getting work on the field but his chances have been limited in the passing game. Thomas only had two receptions but he made the most of it with 53 yards and a long of 39 to kick start the opening drive. Thomas, when targeted, has been open and more importantly with his wide receiver background in college he catches the ball with ease.
