Recent Game Summaries

2018 Week 17 vs PHI (2 / 10 / 0 rush, 8 / 5 / 14 / 0 rec - 4.9 points, $5000)

Thompson played much of the second half with Washington in clear catchup mode against the Eagles. Thompson was firmly held in check, however, as he was stuffed on two receptions and arguably his best play, a nine-yard rush, was in the closing seconds of the first half as Washington was playing out the clock. Thompson's contributions down the stretch in 2018 were minimal in a forgettable year for the change-of-pace back.

2018 Week 16 vs TEN (4 / 20 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec - 3.3 points, $0)

Chris Thompson had six total touches in this game but was held in check. Washington featured Adrian in the run game and their ball control gameplan fazed Chris out of being a factor. He doesn't look like the same explosive running back which might be another reason why Gruden isn't dialing up plays for him. Since returning from injury Chris has struggled to make his usual big plays.

2018 Week 15 vs JAX (5 / 9 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec - 1.8 points, $5300)

Chris Thompson was unproductive for this game. He only had one reception and overall ten scrimmage yards. The creativity that comes with better quarterback play has greatly affected Chris' usage.

2018 Week 14 vs NYG (3 / 23 / 0 rush, 5 / 3 / 15 / 0 rec - 5.3 points, $5600)

Chris Thompson had a total of six touches versus the Giants but was held in check. He ended the game with less than forty yards as the offense was in disarray all day. Chris' explosive plays have been really inconsistent as the cohesion along the offensive line has abysmal. His injuries have played a role in some of his ineffectiveness as well.

2018 Week 13 vs PHI (3 / 3 / 0 rush, 5 / 3 / 18 / 0 rec - 3.6 points, $5600)

Chris Thompson made his way back into the lineup from injury. He only tallied three receptions against the Eagles to go along with three carries. None of his touches resulted in much impact as the offense had a meltdown due to injuries.

2018 Week 8 vs NYG (3 / 13 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec - 3.2 points, $5900)

Chris Thompson made it back from injury but didn't contribute much in today's game. He had five total touches for less than twenty-five yards. He looked a little rusty coming off a 3-game absence as his normal burst and elusiveness didn't seem there. He will be a large part of the offense going forward but he was clearly on a pitch count against the Giants.

2018 Week 5 vs NO (8 / 17 / 0 rush, 8 / 6 / 45 / 0 rec - 9.2 points, $6100)

Chris Thompson was busy against the Saints as Washington had to go pass heavy. He had a total of fourteen touches and became a steady contributor as Adrian Peterson went down with an injury. Chris didn't do anything on the ground, but he did catch 6 receptions for forty-five yards through the air. As Washington faced such a large deficit it allowed Chris to get extra work on a night that was expected to be high scoring.

2018 Week 3 vs GB (6 / 17 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 0 / 0 rec - 2.2 points, $6500)

Chris Thompson had seven total touches for less than twenty yards. As the offense was in total control throughout this game it didn't have a need for his services. Chris did get a carry in the redzone but he was unable to convert. That would have made his stat line look differently. The offense played conservative in the second half as they built a sizable lead which lead to less passing game opportunities for Chris. He will continue to dominate the third down looks and remain heavily involved in the passing game.

2018 Week 2 vs IND (4 / 1 / 0 rush, 14 / 13 / 92 / 0 rec - 15.8 points, $6200)

Chris Thompson found no room to run as he only totaled one rushing yard. However, he led Washington in receptions and receiving yardage. His thirteen receptions were a career high. As the line struggled to protect Chris often became a safety valve for dumpoff passes out of the backfield. Chris is a major part of the Washington offense and today he was extremely busy. Chris' run after the catch yards were minimized as well as the Colts did a great job of corralling him after the catch.

2018 Week 1 vs ARI (5 / 65 / 0 rush, 7 / 6 / 63 / 1 rec - 21.8 points, $6200)

Chris Thompson picked up right where he left off from last season. Showing no signs of rust coming off injury, Chris had a combined eleven touches that went for over one hundred and twenty yards. He also chipped in a touchdown for this game as he used his route running ability to take advantage of a linebacker. The play design looked to be an option route coming out of the backfield. It was an easy read for Alex as Chris took the short dump off about ten yards for the score. Chris is a major component to the Washington offense and his double-digit touches along with the efficient production shows he is ready to contribute immediately.
