Recent Game Summaries
2018 Week 17 vs IND (6 / 2 / 8 / 0 rec - 2.8 points, $0)
Taylor finished second in targets with six, but only hauled in two of them for eight yards as his contribution was kept to a minimum. He did see a deep target in the end zone just before halftime, but it was thrown into heavy coverage and easily broken up.
2018 Week 16 vs WAS (3 / 3 / 64 / 0 rec - 9.4 points, $3700)
Taylor was targeted just three times, but he hauled in all three of them to lead the team in receiving yards with 64. He was the recipient of the first target of the game as Mariota found him on a short route over the middle for 15 yards. Taylor's next reception would come on a similar route for 14 yards from Mariota late in the first quarter. His final reception was a long ball from Blaine Gabbert midway through the fourth quarter for 35 yards. The route took a while to develop, but Taylor used his speed to find his way open for a big gain that would be critical to setting up the Titans for the go-ahead touchdown.
2018 Week 15 vs NYG (5 / 2 / 17 / 0 rec - 3.7 points, $3800)
Taywan Taylor was targeted five times but managed to bring in just two of them for 17 yards. Both of his receptions came on the first two passes of the game as he caught the first one for 14 yards, doing a nice job getting out of coverage and coming back to the ball. The second reception would be a short one for just three yards. Taylor's third target came on that same drive, but thanks in part to the wet weather, Taylor allowed the ball to slip right through his hands to waste what could have been a first down conversion that otherwise ended the drive. Taylor did see a deep target in the end zone on the next drive, but Mariota overthrew him with no chance for Taylor to make a play.
2018 Week 14 vs JAX (7 / 6 / 59 / 0 rec - 11.9 points, $3400)
Taywan Taylor led the Titans in receiving as on a day where opportunities through the air were limited. He was not heavily involved before halftime, but was peppered with targets to start the second half due in part to the injury to Tajae Sharpe. He was the target of a slightly underthrown deep ball thrown but was unable to bring in the reception despite it bouncing off his hands. Taylor would get a reception two plays later on a screen that he managed to take 10 yards for the first down. Taylor stayed busy on this same drive as he hauled in another reception for 13-yards against tough coverage from Jalen Ramsey.
2018 Week 13 vs NYJ (5 / 3 / 104 / 0 rec - 16.4 points, $3300)
Taywan Taylor made a boisterous return to the field this week after being sidelined since Week 9. Taylor would lead the Titans in receiving yards highlighted by a couple of spectacular deep balls in the fourth quarter. He would not even see a target until the first play of the fourth quarter when Mariota missed him deep over the middle. On the next drive, they connected on a 44-yard deep ball where Taylor leaped forward to make a spectacular catch over his shoulder. On the first play of the next drive, Taylor streaked downfield on his way to a 55-yard reception as his straight-line speed was simply too much for the Jets secondary. Taylor was again the target of the first pass of the next drive as he hauled in the short one for five yards to get him over the 100-yard mark for the first time in his career.
2018 Week 9 vs DAL (2 / 2 / 24 / 0 rec - 4.4 points, $3600)
Taywan Taylor was forced to exit this game with a foot injury after hauling in his second reception of the night. He was able to walk off under his own power, but Taylor would not return to the game.
2018 Week 7 vs LAC (2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec - 1.8 points, $0)
Taywan Taylor was not much of a factor last week with only one reception on two targets. His other target was an ugly drop of what would have been at least a 20-yard reception in the fourth quarter as the ball bounced right off his chest.
2018 Week 6 vs BAL (2 / 1 / 13 / 0 rec - 2.3 points, $3900)
Taywan Taylor hauled in only one reception as he was minimally involved in the offense on a day where Marcus Mariota was sacked 11 times. Taylor did have a wide open deep look late in the first quarter that would have been a touchdown if not overthrown by Mariota.
2018 Week 5 vs BUF (5 / 3 / 30 / 0 rec - 5 points, $4000)
Taywan Taylor cost the Titans on their first drive, fumbling after catching a short pass for five yards. Later in the first quarter, taylor took a flip pass in the backfield for six yards on a play that confused the Bills defense with Dion Lewis running the opposite direction. Taylor's biggest play of the game came right after the two-minute warning before halftime as he hauled in a pass on a comeback route in the flats for 19 yards, getting the Titans into Bills territory. Taylor was not targeted at all during the second half.
2018 Week 4 vs PHI (9 / 7 / 77 / 0 rec - 14.7 points, $4000)
Taywan Taylor saw a heavy workload here as the departure of Rishard Matthews led to Taylor serving as the Titans #2 receiver behind Corey Davis. Taylor got involved in the third drive as he was the recipient of a short pass for 12 yards to kick it off. He was the culprit of a false start penalty on the next play, but then followed it up with another big catch for 16 yards. Later in the drive, Taylor nearly brought in a deep ball that would have been at least a 40-yard gain if not for an excellent play by the defender to knock the ball away. Taylor would see one more reception before halftime. Taylor had a relatively uneventful second half before making what was one of the biggest plays of the game for the Titans. On 4th-and-15 in overtime, the Titans had to convert to avoid taking the loss. Taylor would find his way behind the coverage to haul in a huge catch that moved the chains and kept the Titans in the game. This was his last reception of the game to cap off what would be the most productive game of his short career with highs in both receptions and receiving yards.
2018 Week 3 vs JAX (5 / 4 / 30 / 0 rec - 7 points, $3600)
Taywan Taylor led the team in targets and receptions, but each reception came on very short routes for meager single-digit games. He really had no highlight-worthy plays here, but the usage was encouraging to see him targeted so heavily despite this being an overall terrible day for the Titans passing offense.
2018 Week 2 vs HOU (4 / 3 / 32 / 1 rec - 12.2 points, $3600)
Taywan Taylor saw two of his three receptions come on the second drive of the game, with his best being a touchdown reception to cap off the drive. Taylor did it all with individual effort on what looked like a busted screen pass, but he made a nice spin move before fighting his way through tacklers all the way into the end zone for his first touchdown of the season. Taylor would see another short pass before halftime and was not targeted at all during the second half of the game.
