Week 13: at San Diego Chargers

All RB vs SD

Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Doug Martin is starting to round back into form as his return to the field of play lengthens (he's played in three straight games after missing Weeks Four through Nine) and he put up a workmanlike 23/87/0 rushing with two targets for 2/3/0 receiving against the Seahawks' hard-nosed defense last week. One problem from fantasy owners' perspectives is that Martin has only scored one rushing TD this season, with zero receiving scores - the lack of six-point plays is capping his fantasy upside. Peyton Barber (5/16/0 rushing with one target for 1/4/0 receiving) and Jameis Winston (5/12/0 rushing) helped push the Buccaneers over 100 yards rushing last week (35/118/0 as a team). The Chargers' rush defense averages 89.8 yards allowed per game this year (sixth in the NFL) but they have surrendered the second-most rushing scores so far with 15 given away. Houston had 27/114/1 rushing vs. San Diego last week - the Chargers held Jay Ajayi to 19/79/0 rushing two games ago, and limited Miami to 25/106/1 as a team that day. From Week Nine to Week 12 of regular season (the last four weeks, but includes 14 teams on byes during that time span - each team has at least three games played in the last four weeks), San Diego averages 16.4 fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs per game (17th in the NFL). This is a neutral matchup for Martin and company.
