Week 8: at Arizona Cardinals
Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Nick Foles led the Eagles to a 27-0 shutout win over the Giants in Week 6, and then got to bask in the glow of that NFC East victory during the Eagles' bye week. Entering Week 8, Foles is the 18th-ranked fantasy quarterback in the land, with 142/238 for 1,628 yards passing, 10 TDs and seven interceptions thrown, while rushing for 13/53/0 so far. He leans on Jeremy Maclin heavily, having thrown Maclin 61 targets for 28/456/4 receiving to date. Jordan Matthews (37 targets for 23/226/2) and Riley Cooper (37 for 24/217/1) are 2A/2B to Maclin this year; Zach Ertz is also heavily involved with 31 for 19/306/2 receiving to his credit. The Eagles' efficient passing attack should continue to produce solid numbers heading into the meat of the NFL schedule. This week's luncheon will happen in the Cardinals' house - Arizona averages 284.8 net passing yards allowed per game, with 10 passing scores given up vs. eight interceptions (tied-third in the NFL) and seven sacks (tied-27th) generated. The bumbling Raiders were stymied by this defense, though, only managing 16/28 for 164 net yards passing, zero TDs or interceptions, and taking one sack for -9 yards. Two weeks ago Kirk Cousins threw 24/38 for 354 net yards passing, two TDs with three interceptions thrown, and two sacks taken for -19 yards. Most weeks, quarterbacks are closer to 300 yards passing than 200 when facing the Cardinals. Advantage, Philadelphia.
