Week 9: at Houston Texans
Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Nick Foles bombed the Cardinals for 36/62 yielding 411 yards passing, two TDs and two interceptions last week (he's thrown two TDs per game over the past three contests, but almost as many interceptions per game with 81/133 for 866 yards passing, six TDs and five interceptions over the three game span). Three players have seen over five targets and also caught TDs from Foles in that three game window: Jeremy Maclin (30 targets for 19/279/3 receiving), Zach Ertz (19 for 11/134/1), and Riley Cooper (21 for 14/180/1). Jordan Matthews has also been heavily involved (24 targets for 14/132/0 receiving). Maclin is clearly the wide receiver to own out of this convocation of Eagles. The Houston pass D is ranked 28th in the NFL allowing 271.4 net passing yards per game, with 15 pass TDs given up vs. seven interceptions and 15 sacks generated to date (tied for 13th and 18th in the NFL, respectively). Rookie Zach Mettenberger threw 27/41 for 290 yards, two TDs and one interception (with two sacks taken for -9 yards) vs. Houston last week, while Pittsburgh posted 24/34 for 252 net yards, three TDs and zero interceptions vs. Houston two weeks back (three sacks taken for -16 yards). This is a great matchup for Foles (and Maclin, by extension).
