Week 14: at Philadelphia Eagles

All TE vs PHI

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Kirk Cousins led his team to a 27-20 win over Philadelphia back in Week Six, with 18/34 for 263 yards passing, two TDs and one interception thrown (while taking zero sacks). Jamison Crowder (four targets for 3/52/1 receiving) and Vernon Davis (four for 2/50/1) pulled down the TDs, while Pierre Garcon (11 for 6/77/0) and DeSean Jackson (nine for 4/55/0) were the top receivers during the game. Cousins and company fell short in Arizona 23-31 last weekend, even though he moved the ball pretty well (21/37 for 271 yards passing, one TD and one interception thrown, with two sacks taken for -25 yards). He also ran in a TD (2/0/1 rushing). Jordan Reed was out of the game due to a shoulder injury (there is no word on his prospects for Week 14 as of Wednesday, stay tuned to's Players in the News for his practice participation on Thursday and Friday), so Vernon Davis saw six targets for 5/47/0 receiving last week. Pierre Garcon (nine for 7/78/0) and DeSean Jackson (four for 1/59/0) led the team in receiving, while Jamison Crowder shook off a hip pointer during the game and hauled in a TD (eight for 3/42/1). The Washington passing attack is powering onwards entering the final 1/4 of the regular season. The Eagles' pass defense averages 244.5 net passing yards allowed per game (13th in the NFL) with 19 passing scores given out vs nine interceptions (tied for 16th in the NFL) and 26 sacks (tied for 14th) generated so far. From Week 10 to Week 13 of the 2016 season (over the last four weeks, but includes 10 teams on bye during that time span - each team has at least three games played in the last four weeks), Philadelphia has averaged 23.7 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (seventh-most in the NFL); and 30.3 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (third-most); with 5.5 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (10th-least). As you can see the Eagles' pass defense has slipped a few notches of late - Andy Dalton wasn't sacked last week and threw 23/31 for 332 net yards, two TDs and zero interceptions during the 32-14 win over Philadelpia. This is a good matchup for Cousins and company.
