Recent Game Summaries
2019 Week 17 vs DAL (8 / 5 / 81 / 1 rec, 1 / -6 / 0 rush)
Steven Sims led Washington in receiving and targets. He had an expanded role in this game with Terry McLaurin inactive. He hauled in five of his eight targets with one of them going for a touchdown. His touchdown was a great route in the red zone to get separation from the defensive back and secure the catch. The offense fell off a cliff in the second half otherwise this could have been a bigger game for Steven. He played well down the stretch late this season and he may have made a strong case to be a larger part of WashingtonÕs plans offensively.
2019 Week 16 vs NYG (10 / 6 / 64 / 2 rec, 2 / 9 / 0 rush)
Steven Sims had his most productive day of the year against the Giants. He caught six of his ten targets and scored two touchdowns. Both touchdowns were in the redzone and it seems that he is becoming a key threat for them when in scoring position. His second touchdown came on a beautifully executed double move that got him open in the back of the endzone. His speed has become a real factor down the stretch and WashingtonÕs offense has looked much better with him involved opposite Terry McLaurin.
2019 Week 15 vs PHI (11 / 5 / 45 / 1 rec)
Steven Sims led the team in targets with eleven but was only able to haul in five of them. His five catches only went for forty-five yards, but it also included a touchdown. Steven's touchdown was a dime in the back of the endzone in traffic. He was missed on two particular throws that could have given him a much better stat line. Dwayne was unable to connect with Steven twice in the third quarter as Steven had advantage in coverage, but bad ball placement sent them incomplete. It was encouraging to see Steven more involved, but his ball skills and route running are still a work in progress.
2019 Week 14 vs GB (7 / 4 / 40 / 0 rec)
Steven Sims had four receptions on seven targets. Both are season highs for Steven as Washington was without a couple of starting receivers for this game. His speed could be a real asset for the Washington offense if they weren't dealing with rookie struggles at quarterback. Steven constantly made himself available upfield and could play a key role if given an opportunity.
2019 Week 13 vs CAR (4 / 3 / 29 / 0 rec)
Sims made some nice grabs when called upon, with his best play coming on a sideline reception in the two-minute drill at the end of the first half, tapping his toes in bounds beautifully.
2019 Week 12 vs DET (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Steven Sims didn't have a reception in this game but he had the only touchdown for Washington. His sixty-two yard kickoff return was huge in helping Washington get this win. His speed can be useful on offense but until the passing game gets on track his contributions will be inconsistent.
2019 Week 11 vs NYJ (4 / 2 / 6 / 0 rec)
Steven Sims Was activated today versus the Jets. However, he wasn't used much as he only had two catches for less than ten yards. Most games Steven won't be on the field due to be low on the depth chart.
2019 Week 9 vs BUF (1 / 1 / 12 / 0 rec)
Steve Sims had minimal impact in this game as he only tallied one catch for twelve yards.
2019 Week 5 vs NE (3 / 2 / 1 / 0 rec, 1 / 65 / 1 rush)
Steven Sims scored the only touchdown of the game for Washington as he took a sweep sixty-five yards. He didn't make an impact beyond his splash play. However, Steven seemingly has big play ability and it might be wise for the Redskins to give him more opportunities moving forward.
2019 Week 3 vs CHI (2 / 2 / 24 / 0 rec)
Steven Sims made an appearance in this game and tallied two receptions. The high-volume passing attack allowed for him to be on the field, but he won't make much impact unless a few injuries take place.
