TE Adam Shaheen - Chicago Bears
|6-6, 278||Born: 10-24-1993||College: Ashland||Drafted: Round 2, pick 2017|
2019 Week 1 vs GB (2 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Adam Shaheen started in place of an injured Trey Burton against the Green Bay Packers but managed only one reception. Shaheen played less than half the offensive snaps and is likely off the fantasy radar against Denver.
2019 Week 2 vs DEN (3 / 3 / 24 / 0 rec)
Adam Shaheen was the leading tight end against the Denver Broncos in week two, but his targets were largely short-area flat patterns. He is off the fantasy radar in week three.
2017 Week 11 vs DET (4 / 4 / 41 / 1 rec)
Shaheen was pressed into duty and scored the game's first touchdown, sprawling for a diving catch in the end zone. He had a catch in the red zone to set up that score and another catch to help the team get out of the shadow of their own goalposts.
2017 Week 12 vs PHI (1 / 1 / 1 / 0 rec)
The week after what looked like a rookie breakout game, Shaheen caught a pass on the first offensive play of the day for the Bears, but wasn't heard from again during the game unless you count a false start penalty.
2017 Week 14 vs CIN (5 / 4 / 44 / 1 rec)
Adam Shaheen played his best game of the season in Sunday's 33-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie second-round pick hasn't seen the field much this season. The coaching staff usually only plays him during the first 15-or-so scripted plays to start a game or half, citing a lack of knowledge of the playbook Whatever that means. (HE'S A SECOND-ROUND PICK!!!! THEN DON'T DRAFT SOMEONE THIS RAW IN THE SECOND ROUND). Anywho ... Shaheen caught 4-of-5 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown. Mitchell Trubisky and Shaheen look to be developing a nice chemistry, evidenced by the rookie quarterback's trust in the rookie tight end on third downs and inside the red zone. Shaheen, more or less, is a possession tight end. While it's certainly fun to watch this kid develop, he might be an offseason away from being fantasy viable on a weekly basis.
