2015 Week 13 vs MIA (32 / 46 / 308 / 1 / 2 pass, 1 / 0 / 0 rush)

Matt Schaub was unable to get the Ravens in any sort of offensive rhythm. Schaub's lack of arm strength is evident on sideline throws and his pocket presence and awareness leave much to be desired. The Ravens went three and out on their first possession after Schaub couldn't connect with Givens on back to back plays. Schaub connected with receiver Daniel Brown for a 52 yard touchdown but a questionable pass interference call nullified the long score. The drive ended with Olivier Vernon beating James Hurst around the edge for a sack. Despite keeping extra blockers in to protect Schaub the Dolphins were able to apply pressure and hit Schaub often. Schaub looked old and feeble each time he was hit and began to look more concerned about the pass rush than his receivers late in the game. Jimmy Clausen was nearly called to action on two occasions. First, Schaub banged his head on the field then appeared to suffer a shoulder injury but remained in the game. Schaub made a nice throw to Jeremy Butler for 22 yards between the safeties and linebackers on a post route. Schaub was stuffed on a 4th and 1 from the Dolphins 3 yard line on a quarterback sneak. Schaub appeared to gain ground but a mass of bodies gave Harbaugh no reason to challenge. Schaub was intercepted on a batted pass the following possession by Reshad Jones. Schaub's next three attempts went towards Buck Allen. The first two were completed for modest gains but Derrick Shelby saw the third one coming, tipped the pass, came down with the batted ball and outraced Schaub into the end zone. Schaub came out slinging after the pick six and was able to get a field goal before halftime. First he found Givens on a deep back shoulder throw for 36 yards. On a very similar route Schaub completed to Givens gaining 20 more yards this time between a safety and corner. However, Schaub had Kamar Aiken open for a 20 yard touchdown on a crossing route but threw well behind Aiken and forced the field goal attempt. Schaub put together a touchdown drive thanks to Brent Grimes. Grimes allowed back to back completions to Butler and Givens for 24 yards then made no effort to push Buck Allen out of bounds as he raced down the sideline for a 41 yard touchdown. Schaub was sacked on 3rd and short with Kamar Aiken and Buck Allen open in the middle of the field. The following possession was another three and out featuring 3 check downs to Buck Allen. Schaub helped move the offense into field goal range with a 17 yard completion to Daniel Brown who found the soft spot in zone coverage. Schaub was again sacked by Vernon to stall another drive.

2015 Week 12 vs CLE (20 / 34 / 232 / 2 / 2 pass, 3 / 10 / 0 rush)

A blocked field goal and a punt return touchdown helped disguise some of Matt Schaub's struggles. The Ravens opened the game committed to the run and tried to give Schaub some easy completions to get him in a rhythm. Schaub's first two incompletions came when he was under pressure behind a makeshift offensive line forcing a field goal attempt. Schaub underthrew Chris Givens on his first throw downfield but he hauled in the pass for a 48 yard gain. Schaub capped the drive with a check down to Buck Allen who split a pair of Browns defenders on his way to the end zone. Schaub and Aiken could not connect on a deep comeback route because of an apparent miscommunication. Schaub was intercepted by Karlos Dansby his next throw and Dansby returned the interception for a touchdown. Schaub never saw Dansby and the pass may have been picked by Tramon Williams if Dansby didn't get his hands on it. Schaub responded well following the pick six by putting together a scoring drive. First Schaub showed good timing with Aiken on a curl route. Then kept the drive alive with a 4th and 2 conversion to Juszczyk in the flat. Finally, he capped the drive with a perfect throw to the boundary for a 15 yard Aiken touchdown. Backed up at their own 1 yard line Schaub converted a 3rd and 10 with a throw over the middle to Crocket Gillmore for 14. On 4th and 1 on their own 25 yard line Schaub converted on a quarterback sneak up the middle. Schaub kept the drive with a nice throw to Boyle for a nice gain followed by two big plays to Aiken before settling for a field goal. Trying to set up a game winning field goal, Schaub was intercepted by Williams who jumped in front of Aiken on an in route.
