Recent Game Summaries
2014 Week 5 vs NE (1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)
Sanzenbacher only had one target and one catch, on a little screen pass. But even this one opportunity turned out disastrous for Cincy and Sanzenbacher fumbled the ball away on his only reception.
2014 Week 6 vs CAR (5 / 4 / 40 / 0 rec)
Sanzenbacher is another guy that was thrust into a lot of playing time, and like Tate, he performed ok. Sanzenbacher had a big 15 yard 3rd down conversion early in the game on a slant pass. The rest of the game, he had a screen and a few sideline routes and he did a solid job of helping to move the defense. What Sanzenbacher doesn't give you is any big play ability, or any unique skillset that is going to threaten a defense. At this point, the Bengals are using him to help convert on 3rd downs. It's worth noting that Sanzenbacher rarely sees much coverage from the defense, so while AJ is out, he is likely to get 4-5 catches in that possession wr role.
2014 Week 7 vs IND (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Sanzenbacher ran around a lot, and never got open. He is not a legit NFL receiver,as he lacks the ability to do much of anything well. His opportunity to get first team snaps has not gone well, and AJ's return will put him back on the bench, if not the inactive list.
Latest NewsBengals | Cincy won't change offensive game plan (Thu Oct 9, 01:20 PM) - Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) may not play in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, but offensive coordinator Hue Jackson refuses to change the game plan drastically if their receiving star doesn't play. 'That's why I never put together a game plan based on one guy,' said Jackson. 'We're not going to crash our game plan. As a coordinator you just have to adapt. You never know what might happen.' WR Mohamed Sanu is tied for the team lead with Green with 17 catches, and WR Dane Sanzenbacher can also be used. Our View: Jackson might refuse but it's up to quarterback Andy Dalton to execute. As it stands, Mohamed Sanu has one less target than Green, though he played one more game and had two more targets last week in the loss to the New England Patriots. We see Sanu as a solid WR2 right now, with some upside if Andy Dalton can take advantage of what looks to be a good matchup.
