Week 14: at Indianapolis Colts
All RB vs IND
Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. Lamar Miller double-dipped in the TD department against Indianapolis back in Week Six (24/149/1 rushing with four targets for 3/29/1 receiving), helping his team to a 26-23 win over Indianapolis. Alfred Blue chipped in 2/13/0 rushing to the team effort that day.
Right now, the Texans, the Titans and the Colts are tied for the lead in the AFC South at 6-6 - this is an key game for almost everyone in the division (except the Jaguars). Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Miller had a ribs injury during the game at Green Bay last week, and was limited to 14/22/0 rushing with one target for 1/-4/0 receiving during the game last week. He's a shaky fantasy prospect as of mid-week - keep an eye on Footballguys.com's Players in the News as the weekend approaches to see if he practices later this week. If Miller can't go at Indianapolis, Alfred Blue (5/38/0 rushing with two targets for 2/3/0 receiving last week) and Jonathan Grimes (5/43/0 rushing with one target for 1/15/0 receiving) would likely split the work during Week 14. This is a fluid situation, folks.
The Colts' rush defense is currently 20th in the NFL averaging 109.6 yards allowed per game, with eight rushing scores handed over to date. The Jets' pathetic effort last Monday night yielded 14/36/0 rushing, but two weeks ago LeVeon Bell busted out for 23/120/1 rushing and five targets for 4/22/0 receiving at Indianapolis. From Week 10 to Week 13 of regular season (the last four weeks, but includes 10 teams on byes during that time span - each team has at least three games played in the last four weeks), Indianapolis averages 15.4 fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs per game (10th-least in the NFL).
This looks like a tough matchup for the beat-up Texans' backfield.
