Week 9: vs New Orleans Saints
Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. This should be a fun NFC South shootout between two rivals, though neither team has been at their best for the majority of the season.
The Panthers' running back stable is (finally) getting healthier - Jonathan Stewart has managed to move the ball between the 20's over the last two weeks since returning from injury (30/134/0 rushing with 4/27/0 receiving), while DeAngelo Williams was seen running sprints prior to last week's loss to Seattle, and is expected to be back in action for this divisional contest. The Panthers should have their top two backs to throw at the Saints on Thursday Night Football.
Speaking of the Saints, they sport the league's 10th-ranked rush D averaging 101.1 yards allowed per game, with seven rushing scores given out over seven games played. Detroit was held to 24/59/1 rushing two weeks ago, while Green Bay finished with 19/89/1 rushing to their credit last Sunday.
Carolina's running backs may be back, but they come into a fairly tough matchup this weekend. Advantage, New Orleans.
