Game Recaps

2010 Week 2 vs MIN (4 / 10 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite saw a surprising amount of carries as the third back on the depth chart. He was targeted as a receiver, too, but the ball slipped through his hands.

2010 Week 3 vs NYJ (1 / 4 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 14 / 0 rec)

Polite went back to being an afterthought against the Jets, but was able to do a little with the few opportunities he got. With Williams' fumbling issues, it wouldn't be a shock if another back - perhaps Polite - got a few more snaps in the coming games.

2010 Week 6 vs GB (4 / 7 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had a goal line carry (but no TD), and a short yardage carry (but didn't convert). He also caught one pass (for zero yards). It's obvious that the Dolphins like him a lot (...but you shouldn't).

2010 Week 8 vs CIN (2 / 6 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 2 / 0 rec)

Once again was asked to pick up 1st down with his short runs and he answered the bell. He has something close to 18 of 19 conversions on 3rd and short. Guy is money on short runs.

2010 Week 12 vs OAK (1 / 2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Had a huge 1st down run where he initially was stood up but bowled his way forward for the 1st down. He is something like 17 of 18 on short yardage dives resulting in a 1st down for the season.

2010 Week 14 vs NYJ (2 / 5 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had very little impact and even less opportunity as the Miami ground attack never gained any real traction against the Jets defense.

2010 Week 15 vs BUF (1 / 1 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 6 / 0 rec)

Used as a battering ram on the short yardage plays which he once again filled this past week.

2010 Week 16 vs DET (4 / 12 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

Polite had just five touches in the game, but he was the 'go to' guy when the Dolphins needed a short yardage play. Of his four rushes, his longest carry was just four yards. However, each carry went for either a key first down or a TD score. On the TD run, Henne ran a fake bootleg after a handoff to Polite. The defense ignored him and he plowed ahead for an easy TD run. On the season, Polite is 14 of 15 converting third and short and fourth and short plays for the Dolphins.

2010 Week 17 vs NE (1 / 4 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

Excellent short yardage back and converted something like 20+ first downs on the season when the down and distance was 3rd and 2 or shorter. Miami will likely retain him in the off season as he provides a short yardage specialist they need.

2009 Week 2 vs IND (3 / 7 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite got his number called on multiple short yardage runs, and his success probably means he will continue to have a sporadic role in the running game.

2009 Week 4 vs BUF (2 / 5 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

Polite, the fullback, converted his two runs for short first downs, and caught the only ball thrown to him.

2009 Week 7 vs NO (3 / 7 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite continues to get a handful of short yardage carries and leads the way as a blocker in the power running game.

2009 Week 9 vs NE (3 / 7 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Fullback Lousaka Polite had a few short yardage carries in Week 9, including two first downs on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 in the second half. He has no real fantasy value at this point.

2009 Week 11 vs CAR (4 / 11 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Fullback Lousaka Polite had just four carries for short yardage in Week 11, once on a short yardage 3rd-and-1 and two later carries on the final series of the game. Polite is not worth anything for fantasy purposes as his primary role for Miami is as a punishing lead blocker.

2009 Week 12 vs BUF (3 / 22 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 3 / 0 rec)

Polite got the call on 4th and shorts twice, and converted. He also got decent gains on a reception and quick handoff that crossed up the defense.

2009 Week 13 vs NE (1 / 2 / 0 rush, 4 / 1 / 1 / 0 rec)

Polite, a tremendous blocker, took advantage of his lone opportunity to carry the ball converting on a 3rd and 1 deep in NE territory. Lousaka has had 10 different opportunities this season to convert on 3rd or 4th and 1, and has converted all 10 attempts for first downs. Lousaka was wide open on what would have been a sure TD late in the 4th quarter, but the Dolphins were able to overcome it with a late FG to win the game.

2009 Week 14 vs JAX (4 / 18 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)

Polite continued his impressive run as a short yardage option between the twenties, converting two third downs and gaining regular yardage on a variety of dive plays and isolation runs from the FB position. He led the way for Ricky Williams on most of the Dolphins' better gaining run plays.

2009 Week 15 vs TEN (3 / 9 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Polite was given the ball a few times, including a short yardage carry, in which he got the first down.

2008 Week 8 vs BUF (1 / 3 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

In the first quarter Polite carried once for three yards, but he was an effective blocker all afternoon.

2008 Week 10 vs SEA (2 / 4 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 17 / 0 rec)

Polite was used as an occasional runner and receiver, gaining crucial first downs on third and short and fourth and short plays.

2008 Week 11 vs OAK (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

In limited action Polite did not catch the one pass thrown his way.

2008 Week 14 vs BUF (3 / 7 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 3 / 0 rec)

Polite was called upon twice in and short yardage situations to move the chains, which he did.

2008 Week 15 vs SF (2 / 4 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Saw short yardage situations and had four yards on the game.

2008 Week 18 vs BAL (3 / 15 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite took advantage of his three rushing attempts by gaining first downs on all three.

2006 Week 2 vs WAS (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite was targeted twice but dropped both of them.

2006 Week 5 vs PHI (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had just one target in the second quarter and was a non-factor in the game.

2006 Week 12 vs TB (7 / 18 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had seven carries for 18 yards in the fourth quarter. He was used to run out the clock in garbage time.

2006 Week 14 vs NO (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had one target at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

2006 Week 15 vs ATL (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 21 / 0 rec)

Polite caught a nine yard swing pass in the flat for a first down in the first quarter. He added another 12 yard reception on another swing pass.

2006 Week 16 vs PHI (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polite had one ball thrown his way on a route that started in the Cowboys' backfield. The short pass was too high and far for Polite to make the catch in the second quarter. That was his only opportunity to gain yards for Dallas in Week 16.

2006 Week 17 vs DET (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Fullback, Lousaka Polite, had no carries and was targeted once unsuccessfully.

2005 Week 5 vs PHI (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 12 / 1 rec)

Polite had just one chance and he made the most of it. Polite lined up on fourth and one and caught a pass for a 12 yard touchdown on his only touch of the game.

2005 Week 11 vs DET (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 10 / 0 rec)

Polite caught a screen catch to the one yard line.

2005 Week 12 vs DEN (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Fullback, Lousaka Polite, had one reception out of the backfield.

2005 Week 14 vs KC (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 33 / 0 rec)

Fullback Lousaka Polite, in addition to having a great name, provided another good outlet for Bledsoe's passes. He did not provide a lot of yardage or handle the ball much but his presence helped keep the Chiefs' defense off balance.

2005 Week 16 vs CAR (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 1 / 0 rec)

The fullback was targeted once and grabbed it for a single yard.
