Summary

The trade of Jason Pierre-Paul from the New York Giants to the Bucs surprised many, especially as the compensation seemed so low for a player of Pierre-Paul's quality. The landing spot could not have been better, however, as Pierre-Paul escapes what would in all likelihood have been a 3-4 scheme in New York and arrives in Tampa's 4-3. Alongside Gerald McCoy and others, the lanky pass rusher has the potential to produce his best statistical season. Like in New York, Pierre-Paul should see in excess of 800 snaps and with it the chance to wreak havoc on quarterbacks. Pierre-Paul's run defense will be an asset for the Bucs as well. A return to DL1 numbers is possible. (May 5)

Buccaneers | Jason Pierre-Paul to be at minicamp (Sat Jun 9, 12:25 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul did not participate in any of the organized team activities but will take part in the mandatory minicamp next week.

Our View: He'll get some work in when things become mandatory. It would've been comforting to see him out there learning a new scheme, but he must think that minicamp and training camp will be enough to get up to speed.
