Packers | Two Packers LBs to talk with NFL (Thu Aug 18, 03:43 PM) - Green Bay Packers LBs Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers have agreed to talk with the NFL regarding the allegations that they received performance-enhancing drugs, according to sources.

Our View: This was the only way this was going to end. Really, it's hard to tell a boss "no" when they need a meeting like this and it gives Matthews and Peppers the chance to clear the air. Hopefully, that is all that comes of this.

Packers | Two GB defenders might be penalized (Mon Aug 15, 10:06 PM) - Green Bay Packers LBs Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers among four players who will be suspended by Thursday, Aug. 25, if they do not comply with the National Football League's probe into performance-enhancing drugs. The suspension would be for conduct detrimental, and separate from any possible discipline the players would face under the league's drug policies.

Our View: This is more about yielding to Goodell's power than whatever offense might have happened that came from a report that has been discredited. The Packers can't afford to lose Matthews, and Peppers is still one of their better outside linebackers.
