WR Charone Peake - Free Agent
|6-2, 209||Born: 10-16-1992||College: Clemson||Drafted: Round 7, pick 2016|
2018 Week 8 vs CHI (1 / 1 / 14 / 0 rec)
Peake had one nice catch but against the tough Bears secondary, he just couldn't get free on a consistent basis. That's a consistent issue for Peake, who would likely be on the bench if the receiving corps wasn't so injured.
2018 Week 10 vs BUF (1 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)
If it wasn't for the lack depth and ability at wide receiver, Peake would likely not be on the roster. As it is, he's a warm body, rarely targeted or effective when he is.
2016 Week 4 vs SEA (3 / 3 / 30 / 0 rec)
Seeing his first regular game action of his career, rookie wide receiver, Charone Peake made a few plays and benefitted from some good fortune. In the fourth quarter, Ryan Fitzpatrick fumbled, the ball squirted about 10 yards downfield, Peake alertly scooped it up and return it 40 yards for a touchdown. Seattle's defense gave up on the play, thinking it was a dead play, so Peake benefitted from a bit of good fortune. When he wasn't scooping up fumbles, Peake primarily operated in the short-to-intermediate area of the field and made plays after the catch. His route running was a bit raw, but he flashed some play making ability.
2016 Week 5 vs PIT (1 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake played a lot of snaps for the second straight week, but only grabbed one pass on a comeback route.
2016 Week 7 vs BAL (2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake only had one reception, but it was arguably the biggest catch of the game. On a 3rd-and-5 play with three minutes to go before halftime, Peake ran an out-route, evaded Tavon Young's tackle for an 8-yard gain. This play prolonged Fitzpatrick's eventual 75-yard touchdown drive.
2016 Week 8 vs CLE (1 / 1 / 13 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake only had one catch, but it occurred on a 3rd-and-11. Fitzpatrick found Peake short in the middle of the field and Peake picked up a first down on a catch and run for 13 yards.
2016 Week 10 vs LA (2 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake continues to be an inconsistent producer. Better suited as a deep threat, Peake made a few plays on short-to-intermediate routes, but he's extremely raw as a route runner and tended to drift when facing zone coverage. Peake had a long catch and run on a slant route.
2016 Week 14 vs SF (2 / 1 / 10 / 0 rec)
Peake had only one catch for 10 yards, but this catch occurred on a key third down and prolonged a scoring drive.
2016 Week 15 vs MIA (4 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake caught two passes on drag routes against zone coverage. It's troubling that his stat output was higher than Brandon Marshall's.
2016 Week 16 vs NE (3 / 1 / 27 / 0 rec)
Charone Peake had one catch for 27 yards on a deep sideline route. Peake has some upside as a deep threat, but unfortunately, hasn't had many opportunities to make plays.
2016 Week 17 vs BUF (5 / 2 / 22 / 0 rec)
Peake finished his rookie season by making two grabs on intermediate routes. Peake is better served as a deep threat, but given the play calling, was not utilized in that capacity this season.
