Week 9: vs New York Jets

Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. Jamaal Charles did what he usually does when provided ample opportunity - he led the Chiefs to a 'W' with 13/73/2 rushing and 4/44/0 receiving vs. St. Louis last week. Knile Davis helped pile on with 16/49/1 as the Chiefs thrashed the Rams 34-7 in Arrowhead Stadium last week. When Andy Reid utilizes Charles properly, good things happen for the Chiefs. The Jets' rush D has held the last two opponents to under 70 yards rushing, with 32/67/1 given up to Buffalo last week and 15/63/0 allotted to the Patriots two weeks ago. The Jets have given up just three rushing scores all year, and are currently fifth in the NFL averaging 85.4 yards rushing allowed per game. Though part of the Jets' good showing is due to a vulnerable secondary that teams prefer to attack, they are tough to score on in this phase of the game. Kansas City as a team has a tough rushing matchup, but Charles is as much a receiver as a running back can be, and he'll likely do well in the other phase of the game this weekend.
