2014 Week 3 vs MIA (1 / 3 / 0 rush, 7 / 6 / 64 / 2 rec)
McKnight was a huge surprise in this one and led the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. McKnight's only carry went for a 3rd yard gain on an inside handoff, but he did plenty of damage through the air. McKnight picked up 12 yards on a well blocked screen to set up the first touchdown. On the next drive he showed good elusiveness as he danced through the secondary for a 26 yard gain on another pass out of the backfield. McKnight even lined up outside on a key 3rd and 7 and ran a slant to pick up the first down. Both of Mcknight's touchdowns came as a result of good schemes. The first was a circle route where the Dolphins tried to cover him with a defensive end and McKnight waltzed into the end zone untouched. On the second, it was a swing pass in the flats and McKnight beat one man into the end zone. Essentially the Chiefs used Knile Davis to replace the rushing output of Jamaal Charles while McKnight replaced his production in the passing game.
