Week 8: at New Orleans Saints
All TE vs NO
Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Russell Wilson is staying home in the pocket this year, and it shows in his rushing totals (136/207 for 1,559 yards passing, five TDs and one interception thrown, with 22/33/0 rushing). He stayed there most of the night at Arizona last weekend, too - 24/37 for 225 yards passing, zero TDs or interceptions, and one sack taken for -20 yards. Wilson had one rush for -2 yards on the day. As usual, Doug Baldwin (nine targets for 6/69/0 receiving) and Jimmy Graham (10 for 5/53/0) were his main guys, with a sprinkling of Jermaine Kearse (four for 3/51/0). Nobody else on the team got over 20 yards receiving - Tyler Lockett saw two targets for 2/13/0 during the contest.
The New Orleans pass defense is a shambles, averaging 287 yards passing allowed per game (30th in the NFL) with nine passing scores handed out vs. two interceptions (tied for worst in the league) and nine sacks generated (tied for next-to-last in the league). Even Alex Smith threw two TDs and zero interceptions against these guys (17/24 for 214 net passing yards). From Week Five to Week Seven of the 2016 season (over the last three weeks), New Orleans has averaged 24.3 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (fifth-most in the NFL); and 23.7 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (16th in the NFL); with 10.6 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (sixth-most).
This looks like a great matchup for Wilson and company.
