Week 12: vs New York Jets
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. These teams clashed at MetLife Stadium on October 26, 2014 - the Bills won the first contest decisively, 43-23. Kyle Orton bombed the weak Jets' secondary for four TD passes during the contest, ending the day with 10/17 for 238 yards passing, and zero interceptions thrown (with four sacks taken for -25 yards). He was much less prolific at Miami last week, with 22/39 for 193 yards passing, zero TDs and zero interceptions thrown (two sacks taken for -10 yards). Bryce Brown (10 targets for 7/57/0 receiving), Chris Hogan (nine for 7/74/0) and Sammy Watkins (seven for 3/37/0) were Orton's main targets during the game last week. The Bills' offense is in a lull entering Week 12.
The Jets' pass D remains as suspect as ever, having allowed a league-worst 25 passing scores through 10 games, while generating a league-worst three interceptions. They do have 27 sacks (tied for eighth in the NFL), which is a worry for Buffalo, with their 26 sacks given up this year (22nd in the NFL in this category). New York averages 240.5 net passing yards allowed per game (15th in the NFL) - Pittsburgh posted 30/43 for 326 net yards, one TD and two interceptions at the Jets two weeks ago, with two sacks taken for -17 yards, but the low TDs allowed total was an aberration for this vulnerable secondary.
Advantage, Buffalo. In addition, the rushing matchup is tough for the Bills so Orton is going to be putting the ball up early and often in this game.
