Week 7: at Miami Dolphins
All WR vs MIA
Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Tyrod Taylor and company poured 45 points onto the 49ers' defense last weekend, and Taylor accounted for 12 of them with 17/26 for 179 yards passing, two TDs thrown and zero interceptions handed over (three sacks taken for zero yards lost). He also added 8/68/0 as the Bills trampled the 49ers for 312 yards on the ground. Charles Clay (seven targets for 5/52/0 receiving) and Robert Woods (six for 5/44/1) were the top targets last week, but Justin Hunter also got into the end zone with two targets for 1/30/1 receiving. The Bills are winning games with a modest passing attack.
The Dolphins upset the Steelers 30-15 last week, holding Ben Roethlisberger and company to 19/35 for 169 net yards passing, one TD and two interceptions thrown, with two sacks for -20 yards. This after Miami allowed 20/29 for 163 net yards passing, three TDs and zero interceptions with zero sacks generated to Marcus Mariota two games ago. The Dolphins' secondary elevated their game in Week Six. To date, the team averages 236.7 net passing yards allowed per game (13th in the NFL), with nine passing scores handed over vs. three interceptions and 12 sacks generated to date (in the middle of the league in both latter categories). From Week Four to Week Six of the 2016 season (over the last three weeks), Miami has averaged 20.4 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (15th-most in the NFL); and 25.8 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (12th-most); with 6.8 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (14th-least). Any way you slice it, this is a middle-of-the-road, average pass defense entering Week Seven.
This is a neutral matchup between divisional rivals.
