Week 15: vs Baltimore Ravens

All WR vs BAL

FBG says: Good matchup. DeShone Kizer this year has been hit or miss and the first three quarters last week against the Packers might have been the best three quarters he has played all season. Kizer threw for 3 touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes on the day, but when it came to the fourth quarter he simply fell apart throwing two critical interceptions which ultimately cost the Browns the game. Josh Gordon continues to show that he is the best receiver on this team as he has led the Browns in receiving yards for both of his two games back and appears to give some stability to this pass offense that was seeking another playmaker alongside Corey Coleman. The Baltimore Ravens are desperately missing cornerback Jimmy Smith who is out due to a suspension. This is a secondary that was exposed last week by the Steelers giving up 506 yards and two touchdowns passing to the Steelers. With the suspension, to Smith, Maurice Canady and rookie Marlon Humphrey have been asked to play more. Humphrey did a great job last week primarily defending Martavis Bryant will likely be matched up against Corey Coleman this week, while Josh Gordon gets the opportunity to go up against the Ravens weakest cornerback in Brandon Carr. This could be a tremendous matchup for Gordon to have a breakout game.

Recent Game Summaries

2017 Week 8 vs MIN (6 / 2 / 42 / 0 rec)

Louis picked up his first catch on a short five-yard screen pass in the first quarter. He followed that up with a beautiful 37-yard back shoulder catch on the ensuing drive. He did an excellent job of spinning and readjusting his body to make the grab along the left sideline. Louis was quiet the rest of the way, however. He did draw a target near the end zone in the third quarter but it sailed way over his head. In the fourth quarter he dropped what would have been a 12-yard catch. It appeared he may have slipped on the play before the drop.

2017 Week 6 vs HOU (7 / 3 / 25 / 0 rec)

Louis continues to be one of Kevin Hogan's favorite targets. He led the Browns with seven targets in Week 6, although many of them were uncatchable due to Hogan's accuracy issues. In the second quarter, Louis appeared to have a step on his defender but was overthrown by at least five yards. He failed to connect with Hogan on two more deep targets in the second half, with both passes being overthrown yet again. Louis did have a seven-yard catch in the third quarter nullified by an offensive holding penalty.

2017 Week 5 vs NYJ (8 / 5 / 71 / 0 rec)

Louis benefitted from the absence of wideout Kenny Britt. He led the team in targets, catches, and receiving yards. While Rashard Higgins was a popular waiver add a few weeks back, it appears Louis is the better long-term bet for receiving production on the team. He was targeted heavily by both DeShone Kizer and Kevin Hogan throughout the game. That being said, two of Louis' catches and 37 of his yards came on the final drive with the Jets playing back and conceding catches in front of them. Louis could have had a bigger day but he was overthrown on a deep route down the middle during the fourth quarter.

2017 Week 4 vs CIN (9 / 5 / 64 / 0 rec)

Louis' final stat line looks impressive but almost all of his production came in garbage time. His first target came in the second quarter but was too high for him to catch. On the last drive of the game, Louis made a pretty over the shoulder catch for a 31-yard pickup. He later saw a red zone target on a short slant. He made the catch and was brought down at the Cincinnati two-yard line.
