Week 12: vs Philadelphia Eagles
All RB vs PHI
Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. What rushing attack? We are tempted to leave it at this. Sorry Lions' fans.
However, there is some hope this week - Philadelphia's rush D was shredded for 42/283/0 by Tampa Bay last week, and the Eagles are ranked 28th in the NFL averaging 128.5 rushing yards allowed per game (but they have given up just three rushing scores, being stubborn at the goal-line). Over the past four weeks (three games) the Eagles have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing backs, with 23.1 given out.
Taken together, Ameer Abdullah (12/44/0 rushing with 1/2/0 receiving) and Joique Bell (6/22/0 rushing with 1/18/0 receiving) posted a semblance of a rushing attack against Oakland's 23rd-ranked unit, but Matthew Stafford snarfed up the only rushing TD of the day (6/31/1) leaving fantasy owners desperate enough to actually start a Lions' back high-and-dry yet again.
Try really, really hard to avoid the Lions' backfield, even in this favorable matchup that we'll call 'neutral' because of how awful the Eagles were last week (as opposed to being optimistic about Detroit's backs).
