General News (Tue Oct 28): was targeted five times in Week 8 in his second start since signing with the team, and head coach Marvin Lewis said he feels Little "has the ability to make plays" for the offense.

Week 9: vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Andy Dalton found a way to score against the Ravens, with 6/14/2 rushing to help out his fantasy owners (21/28 for 266 yards passing, zero TDs and one interception thrown). Mohamed Sanu continued to do the heavy lifting for the injury-decimated receiving corps, with nine targets for 5/125/0 receiving to his credit. Greg Little was a temporary lift (five targets for 3/42/0 receiving) while Cincinnati waits for A.J. Green to get back in the action. Green said after the game last week that his sore toe is back to 80% healthy, and IF he doesn't suffer another practice-session setback it is looking good for Green to play in Week 9. Stay tuned to Footballguys.com's Players in the News later this week for the latest on Green's practice participation. If he can go, it should provide a lift for Dalton's performance as a passer. The Jaguars started the year being pathetic at pass defense, and currently rank 27th in the NFL averaging 267.4 net passing yards allowed per game, with 13 pass TDs allowed vs. a mere three interceptions (tied for 26th in the NFL). They do have 25 sacks this season (tied for second in the NFL), which has become a building block for the pass D. Ryan Tannehill was held to 16/29 for 178 net yards, one TD and one interception thrown last week (three sacks taken for -18 yards), while Brian Hoyer threw 16/41 for 197 net yards, zero TDs and one interception two games ago (also three sacks taken for -18 yards). During October, the Jaguars' pass D has taken several steps forward - they aren't getting totally dominated in this phase of the game anymore. Dalton has faltered without Green, but against the so-so Jaguars pass D he should be able to get on track in the passing phase of the game.

2014 Week 7 vs IND (2 / 1 / 13 / 0 rec)

Little was signed this week to fill the void left by the unfortunate loss of Marvin Jones for the season. Little immediately pulled a "Little" and dropped a first down sideline route from Dalton in the first half. Late in the game, he did have one 13 yard slant, but it was meaningless. As always, Little looks the part, but his hands just continue to betray him. If he could start catching the ball consistently, it would be a huge help to this offense, but his Cincinnati career didn't get off to a good start against the Colts

2014 Week 8 vs BAL (5 / 3 / 42 / 0 rec)

Little is also a physical specimen, but his career has been plagued with drops. Little made some nice plays in this game, and got away with one drop. On the first possession, Little caught a great pass from Dalton on 3rd and 15 inside the 5 yard line. It was a deep comeback, and Little caught the ball, made a move and almost scored. Little also caught a 20 yard pass from Dalton down the field later in the 2nd quarter, but a holding penalty wiped away the play. Later in the game, Dalton overthrew Little in the endzone on what could have been a big TD. Little got a one-on-one, completely faked out the defender, and Dalton overthrew him. On the final possession, Little started things off bad by dropping a short pass across the middle. That not-so-clutch drop has been defining of his career. But he rebounded by catching a sideline pass, making a physical move on the corner, and picking up 13 yards to put the Bengals into position to win. Little is too inconsistent to be relied on as a number 2, but if he can keep catching the ball, he should be an intriguing 3rd option for Dalton when AJ returns. This is a guy who has the physical talent to be an NFL receiver, and he should have opportunities the rest of the year.

Bengals | Greg Little fitting in fast (Mon Oct 27, 08:43 PM) - Cincinnati Bengals WR Greg Little was targeted five times in Week 8 in his second start since signing with the team, and head coach Marvin Lewis said he feels Little 'has the ability to make plays' for the offense.

Our View: Little has good run-after-the-catch ability...it's the catching part that has been difficult for him throughout his NFL career. We'll see if he can continue to impress with the Bengals. His target count will drop when A.J. Green (toe) returns to the lineup.
