Week 7: at Green Bay Packers

All RB vs GB

FBG says: Neutral matchup. The Saints offense exploded for 52 points last week, and a big part of that was the success they had on the ground as they actually finished with more rushing yards (193) than passing yards (186). Mark Ingram had the best game of his season as he was afforded a very heavy workload with 25 carries for 114 yards and two short touchdowns. Alvin Kamara made the most of his 10 carries as well by totaling 75 yards on the ground. The snap count between the two was very similar to what it has been since Week 2 of the season as Ingram was on the field 66% of the time compared to Kamara's 42%. The Packers run defense has been up and down this season. After a decent start to the year, they have struggled over the past two weeks, allowing 116 rushing yards to Ezekiel Elliott in Week 5 followed by allowing Jerrick McKinnon to average 4.3 yards per carry for 69 yards and a rushing touchdown (along with a 5 / 30 / 1 receiving stat line) against them last week. The Packers have now allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs in standard scoring formats. However, they still have the talent there to stop the run and showed it to be so as they held Latavius Murray to only 28 yards on 15 attempts last week. Both Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark are outstanding interior defenders on that line, and linebacker Blake Martinez (led the team in tackles with eight last week) has been playing very well beside Pro Bowler Clay Matthews.

Saints | Daniel Lasco promoted to active roster (Tue Oct 17, 07:04 PM) - New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco was promoted the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Our View: The Saints had been looking for RB help and working out various veterans after trading away Adrian Peterson last week. Lasco will serve as a backup/special teams player. We like his all-purpose skill set, but Lasco isn't in line to get many touches behind Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.
