Week 15: vs Oakland Raiders

All TE vs OAK

FBG says: Good matchup. Andy Dalton was lost for the season in a Week 12 loss to the Browns. Backup Jeff Driskel has been decent in relief. He has at least taken care of the ball (one interception on 100 attempts this season) and has been relatively efficient (66.6% completion percentage). The problem is that big plays have been few and far between, with Driskel averaging just 6.5 yards per attempt. Most of the issues with the Bengals pass offense are not quarterback related. The Bengals starting offensive tackles are amongst the worst in the league and the matchups the last two weeks against the Broncos (Von Miller and Bradley Chubb) and Chargers (Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram) edge rushers have been brutal. Cincinnati's offensive line will get a reprieve this week against Oakland's toothless pass rush that ranks 32nd in sack percentage. Cincinnati also has issues at wide receiver without A.J. Green. His absence has allowed opposing defenses to devote extra attention to Tyler Boyd, who has still been fairly productive since ascending to WR1. He has at least 52 receiving yards in six straight games. One week after facing arguably the toughest slot cornerback in the league (Desmond King), Boyd will get to face one of the worst (Nick Nelson). Oakland's pass defense allows a league-high 8.4 yards per attempt. The only reason the defense hasn't given up huge yardage totals is that opponents have often built up early leads, which has led to Oakland facing the fewest passing attempts per game (29.5) against. With Khalil Mack traded before the season, the Raiders lack of an impact pass rusher has been glaring. The defense ranks dead last in sack percentage (2.8% of attempts). The Raiders are letting their trio of rookie defensive linemen (Arden Key, Maurice Hurst, and PJ Hall) learn on the job and there have been growing pains. Oakland is also giving up passing touchdowns in bunches, allowing a whopping 31 passing touchdowns already this season. The Raiders have allowed at least two touchdowns to 12 of the 13 quarterbacks they have faced this season.
