News you need to know

From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Oct 15): Kearse was a target hog in Week 6 once Quincy Enunwa went out. If Enunwa's absence is long, Kearse will have some staying power in the slot for the Jets rising offense.

Week 7: vs Minnesota Vikings - $5000

Recent Game Summaries

2018 Week 5 vs DEN (4 / 1 / 14 / 0 rec - 1.9 points, $4800)

Kearse got plenty of catches but he and quarterback Sam Darnold rarely seemed on the same page, with Kearse missing a few potential passes and Darnold missing him on another.

2018 Week 4 vs JAX (5 / 2 / 23 / 0 rec - 3.3 points, $5000)

A couple of weeks worth of miscues and lackadaisical effort seemed to have resulted in Terrelle Pryor seeing just two snaps on offense, which gave Kearse a chance to see a significant amount of snaps. Still, all of his targets came in the second half. He did have a very nice catch late in the third quarter where he showed great control in getting both feet in on a sideline catch. Aside from that and a few deep balls which his quarterback missed on, Kearse was quiet.

2018 Week 3 vs CLE (6 / 3 / 35 / 0 rec - 5 points, $5000)

On the plus side, the Jets seemed to remember Jermaine Kearse existed after all but ignoring him in Week 2. On the downside, he only caught three of his six targets and his impact is limited because the Jets won't take Sam Darnold's training wheels off. Kearse is a decent receiver who isn't being asked to do much and doesn't seem to have much of a role on offense right now.

2018 Week 2 vs MIA (2 / 1 / -1 / 0 rec - 0.4 points, $5000)

The forgotten Jets receiver, Kearse only saw one target and was brought down behind the line of scrimmage. So far he doesn't look like much of an option for this offense.
