QB Mike Kafka - Free Agent
|6-3, 225||Born: 7-25-1987||College: Northwestern||Drafted: Round 4, pick 2010|
2011 Week 2 vs ATL (7 / 9 / 72 / 0 / 0 pass, 1 / 2 / 0 rush)
Kafka entered the game after Vick suffered a concussion running into a teammate on Sunday night and nearly led his team back to victory in a very solid showing for the young QB. Kafka looked poised and confident from the pocket and if not for a couple of costly drops by his WR's he would have had a perfect stat line. With Vince Young hobbled with a hamstring injury and Vick KO'd with a concussion it is possible that Kafka could start in week 3.
2011 Week 3 vs NYG (4 / 7 / 35 / 0 / 2 pass, 0 / 0 / 0 rush)
Mike Kafka looked woeful in this game but it was in garbage time and he was clearly trying to force anything to somehow get his team back in this game. Kafka tried to move CB Ross with a pump and throw down the sidline but Ross didn't budge and picked it off easily. Later in the game Kafka was picked off again as he was eager to make a play and forced it downfield into the hands of a NYG safety. Kafka looked terrible but coming off the bench in a game that you are losing is never a good situation for a second year player and will not have lost the confidence of the coaching staff because of it.
2011 Week 15 vs NYJ (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 pass, 2 / -2 / 0 rush)
Kafka went in to kneel down in victory formation twice.
