Week 3: at Philadelphia Eagles
All QB vs PHI
FBG says: Good matchup. Andrew Luck took a step back this past week after a very strong week one in terms of overall statistics. However, most of this was game script driven as the Colts fell behind against the Bengals in Week 1 and were leading for most of the game in Week 2 which did not drive the need to throw the ball downfield. While he is still getting back into rhythm and is not expected to have the type of output that we saw in 2016, he is still very effective so far this season with a relatively unknown group of receivers outside of T.Y. Hilton as the Colts are still waiting for someone to step up alongside Hilton to be the number two receiver on this team whether it is Ryan Grant or Jack Doyle but one of them needs to provide consistency throughout the season.
The Eagles secondary is one that was shredded by Ryan Fitzpatrick last week as he threw for 402 yards and four touchdowns this past week. While it is not the most talented group, it is a unit that is largely in the middle of the group in terms of talent and should not be consistently having this bad of a week. This is one of those scenarios where the players are largely the same in the secondary as 2017 so we should trust that they will return to the unit that gave up 227 yards per game net passing yards last season. This is not a unit that you should avoid, but also not one that you should look to exploit as they should rebound this week.
