Summary

With Morgan Burnett moving on to the Steelers, it leaves Josh Jones in a position to take over at strong safety. As a rookie, Jones logged a whopping 731 snaps, and though he had growing pains, he had games in which he played well and showed the ability to come up near the line of scrimmage and play the run. While Jones will now transition to more of a traditional safety role than what he saw as a rookie, he will continue to get linebacker snaps in certain packages, making him even more valuable. With the defense recalibrating under Mike Pettine's new scheme, there should still be plenty of tackles to go around, meaning Jones, like Burnett before him, has a great shot at finishing in the top fifteen among fantasy defensive backs.
