After being claimed from waivers just before the season started, Johnson is handling both punt and kick returns for Houston.
Johnson started as the team's punt returner but other players have begun to see opportunities.

Week 9: vs Philadelphia Eagles

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Ryan Fitzpatrick has brought the Texans through the first half of the season at 4-4 and in second place in the AFC South behind the 5-3 Colts. Over the last two games he's thrown 40/67 for 489 yards, three TDs and one interception while going 1-1 (beating divisional foe Tennessee but losing to the Steelers). Three players have seen double digit TDs during that time frame, with 21 targets for 12/132/0 receiving flowing to Andre Johnson; 20 for 11/203/0 going to DeAndre Hopkins; and 12 for 8/35/2 landing in Arian Foster's arms. Alfred Blue caught the other TD over the last two weeks (2/33/1 receiving over the past two contests). It isn't fancy, but Fitzpatrick has mostly kept the Texans' offense rumbling along in orderly fashion. The Eagles' pass D is currently 26th in the NFL allowing 266.9 net passing yards per game, with a whopping 15 pass TDs given up vs. three interceptions (tied-26th in the NFL) and 19 sacks generated (14th). Carson Palmer wasn't sacked or intercepted last week (20/42 for 329 yards passing, two TDs and zero interceptions), while Eli Manning and Ryan Nassib were sacked eight times for -43 yards during their nightmare in Lincoln Field two games back (17/28 for 168 net yards, zero TDs or interceptions). Houston is in the middle of the NFL ranks with 16 sacks allowed (14th in the NFL). This looks like a good matchup for the home team.

Recent Game Summaries

2014 Week 6 vs IND (3 / 3 / 62 / 0 rec)

Every week Johnson shows up just a little bit more and his share of this offense is growing. This week Johnson was targeted three times and made good on all three of those passes. Johnson had a brilliant catch in double coverage down the seam where he adjusted to the ball in mid-air. Johnson does not have the workload yet to justify ownership, but with 16.6 yards per catch over the season and 20.7 on Thursday, Johnson is too explosive for O'Brien and the Texans to ignore. Johnson is certainly worth a stash in deeper dynasty leagues.
