Quick fantasy outlook: Janoris Jenkins was the 2012 draft poster child for a top prospect falling out of the first round due to character question marks and off field red flags. Graded purely on talent, he was a blue chip prospect with coveted elite press cover and ball skills comparable to consensus top rookie CB Morris Claiborne. After multiple well documented off field transgressions, though, Jenkins put himself in position for the Rams to take him with the second of three second round picks. A controversial decision for some, the organization felt that the windfall of future draft picks accrued in the blockbuster, Herschel Walker-like Robert Griffin III trade allowed them to take such a risk, especially when mitigated by compelling, top 10-15 overall talent (he throttled future star NFL WRs such as A.J. Jenkins and Julio Jones while in the SEC). Though internally suspended one game for undisclosed reasons (with fellow rookie Chris Givens), Jenkins flashed playmaking skills with four defensive TDs, including a rookie record-tying and league best three INT return TDs, propelling him to a near top 10 IDP finish among defensive backs. He has star potential and a very bright future if he can keep his focus between the lines by avoiding off field distractions.
