Week 6: at New York Jets - $4500

All TE vs NYJ

FBG says: Good matchup. Unfortunately, Dak Prescott's blistering first three weeks are starting to fade from the memories of some. Since Week 2, he's slipped in completion rate from 82% to 62%, and from 10.9 yards per attempt to 8.6. Garbage time saved his fantasy day against the Packers, as he posted 71% of his 463 yards and both his touchdowns in the second half. Prior to the break, he struggled to get the ball to anyone other than Amari Cooper. Still, there's plenty of reason for week-to-week optimism in this attack. After all, 8.6 yards per attempt is still quite strong, and Prescott throws to one of football's most exciting downfield duos. Cooper looked almost uncoverable Sunday, beating dominant Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander over and over en route to a career-best line of 11 catches, 226 yards (with a late touchdown). Across the field, Michael Gallup returned from injury and immediately continued his second-year breakout, posting 113 yards and a touchdown of his own. Prescott will also have both tackles back from injury soon - perhaps even by Sunday. Tyron Smith has turned around quickly from an ankle sprain, while La'el Collins underwent a clean MRI on his knee this week. Prescott clearly missed them throughout the Packers game; he was frequently chased around and pressured into throws just a hair off the mark. It would be short-sighted to view this passing game through the lens of just the past few injury-marred weeks. A date with the Jets' weak pass defense makes for as strong of a "get right" opportunity as there is. The Jets pass defense continues to struggle with consistency, giving up the league's 12th-most yards and net yards per attempt through 5 games. Last week, Carson Wentz barely had to drop back to crush the Jets, but he spread the ball around efficiently while the game was up for grabs. Cornerback remains a huge weakness on this Jets unit, with talent and depth sorely lacking on the outsides. Free-agent addition Brian Poole has been strong in coverage, but Trumaine Johnson and Darryl Roberts remain extremely easy to pick on. They've been the primary culprits in surrendering huge games thus far to John Brown (7 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown), Odell Beckham (6 for 161 and 1), and the Josh Gordon/Phillip Dorsett duo of New England (12 for 136 and 1). With little pass rush to speak of, those shaky cornerbacks are forced to hold downfield coverage for far too long, which has sprung big plays left and right. Safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye are remarkable young talents against the pass, but can only provide so much help. This remains one of fantasy's most inviting matchups - specifically for playmaking wideouts. As long as game script keeps the Cowboys throwing even a little, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup boast favorable Week 6 outlooks.

Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 4 vs NO (3 / 3 / 49 / 0 rec - 6.4 points, $4500)

Jarwin has been one of the more active secondary tight ends in the NFL through the opening month and saw another promising three targets against New Orleans. Jarwin's main contribution was a perfect seam throw from Dak Prescott as Jarwin rumbled down to the goal line. Jarwin has shown big-play ability if his role increases with an absence by Jason Witten going forward.

2019 Week 3 vs MIA (3 / 1 / 3 / 0 rec - 0.8 points, $4500)

Jarwin saw three targets against Miami but his best chance for a big play - a wide open opportunity for 15+ yards - was one of Dak Prescott's least accurate throws of the game as the pair missed on the connection. Jarwin added a drop and was tackled short of the marker on third down with his lone reception in a non-descript effort.

2019 Week 2 vs WAS (1 / 1 / 22 / 0 rec - 2.7 points, $4500)

Jarwin is simmering as a secondary tight end offense for the Cowboys but flashed for a second consecutive week behind the short-range-centric Jason Witten. Jarwin corralled his lone target, a corner route, for a chunk gain against Washington. Jarwin offers more upside for impact plays if Jason Witten were to miss time.

2019 Week 1 vs NYG (3 / 3 / 39 / 1 rec - 11.4 points, $4000)

Jarwin was the secondary tight end to Jason Witten in terms of snaps (40% versus 66%) but Jarwin showed well down the seam for a back-shoulder touchdown as Dallas surged as a passing offense against the Giants. With Witten limited to short areas of the field, Jarwin offers a more well-rounded role to the position, notable for the upcoming weeks.
