Recent Game Summaries

2016 Week 16 vs NO (3 / 2 / 24 / 0 rec)

Huff hauled in his first target-a WR bubble screen similar to those often run by slot man Adam Humphries-for a 12 yard gain. Winston targeted Huff on a deep ball down the left side of the field on the next play, but couldn't connect downfield against strong coverage from the Saints. Huff caught another bubble screen on the opposite side of the formation in the 3rd quarter, picking up 1st down yardage on 3rd and long. Huff returned kickoffs for the Bucs, fumbling the opening kick of the 2nd half and taking his time recovering it at the Bucs own 4 yard line. The Saints intercepted the ball on the ensuing drive, which started out with Winston in his own end zone.

2016 Week 14 vs NO (2 / 1 / 17 / 0 rec, 1 / 5 / 0 rush)

Recently signed Huff saw snaps in the slot after Cecil Shorts and Adam Humphries went down last week with injuries. He was targeted on one of Humphries' signature WR bubble screens in the 3rd quarter, but failed to secure the catch. Winston connected with Huff down the seam a few plays later for a gain of 17 yards. Huff also fielded kickoffs for Tampa Bay, and put the offense in a terrible spot by touching an errant kick that was on its way out of bounds at the half-yard line. The offense suffered a safety on the next play while attempting to run Martin up the middle for some breathing room. Huff continued to field kicks after the mistake.

2016 Week 8 vs DAL (1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Huff was a nonfactor today as well outside of his 53-yard kickoff return. The wide receiver was only targeted once for nine yards and was not used in the run game at all like he had been in previous weeks. After his electric kick return against Minnesota last week, Huff remained quiet this week.

2016 Week 7 vs MIN (4 / 4 / 39 / 0 rec)

Josh Huff was the MVP for the Eagles in this game. Huff was able to return a kick off 98 yards for a touchdown in this game. From a receiver perspective, this game was perfect for Huff, as they utilized him in the screen game allowing him to run after the catch.

2016 Week 6 vs WAS (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

After scoring his first touchdown of the season last week, Huff did not register a single target today. He was quoted after the game about how tough of a defender Josh Norman was, but for a receiver who has both caught and run the ball this season, it is interesting to see him completely shut out. No receiver has stepped up behind Jordan Matthews to this point, but with another performance like this, Huff will become a complete afterthought in the Eagles' offense.

2016 Week 5 vs DET (3 / 3 / 5 / 1 rec, 2 / 10 / 0 rush)

Aside from the 1-yard touchdown, Huff was largely a nonfactor today. He pulled in 3 targets for just 5 yards and added 2 carries for 10 yards. Huff is attempting to get looks in a very crowded wide receiver core. There should be more room to run next week against the Redskins, but if Wentz is finding the same success to other receivers, do not expect Huff to light up the stat sheet.

2016 Week 3 vs PIT (5 / 4 / 20 / 0 rec)

Huff reeled in 4 of his 5 targets for 20 yards today, and never quite broke away from the Steelers defense. While Huff was the second most targeted receiver on the day, he is primarily being used as a check down receiver which limits his upside as they like getting him the ball and letting him try to make defenders miss.
