Week 4: at San Diego Chargers

All TE vs SD

Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. Josh McCown showed us why he got the starting job back from Johnny Manziel in Week Three - even though the Browns didn't win, 28/49 for 341 yards passing, two TDs and one interception thrown is strong in anybody's book. One concern, though, is that McCown smacked his hand on a helmet and had some X-rays/treatment on his appendage after the contest on Sunday. Gary Barnidge (nine targets for 6/105/1 receiving) led the team vs. Oakland, while Travis Benjamin (10 for 4/45/1) continued his scoring binge - Brian Hartline hauled in 5/96/0 on seven targets. While Dwayne Bowe remains inactive, the other receivers on this team are making Cleveland respectable in this phase of the game. The Chargers' pass D surrendered a mere 13/24 for 121 yards passing, with zero TDs and one interception at Minnesota last week (but were victimized for 31/163/3 in the other phase of the game) - to date, San Diego averages 189.3 net passing yards allowed per game, with five TDs given out vs. three interceptions generated (and a mere one sack so far). The Browns are on the road this weekend, so the hostile environment tilts us towards calling this a tough passing matchup for McCown and company. Also, Isaiah Crowell has a tasty rushing matchup, so Cleveland may not need to throw the ball frequently in this one.

Recent Game Summaries

2015 Week 3 vs OAK (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Housler was not really involved in the passing game. He dropped a pass that should have been a first down. In addition, on the play he was flagged for pushing off on Charles Woodson so even had he made the catch it would have been called back.

2015 Week 1 vs NYJ (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Housler's first target in the game came on a fade in the red zone which Josh McCown overthrew. Housler was covered closely by the defense and had no chance at making the play. After that, he was quiet for the rest of the game.
