Game Recaps

2005 Week 5 vs GB (3 / 1 / 2 / 0 rec)

Hilton caught his only pass in the second quarter for a two yard gain.

2005 Week 6 vs ATL (1 / 1 / 18 / 0 rec)

Hilton caught one pass in the first quarter for 18 yards and a first down.

2005 Week 9 vs CHI (3 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)

Hilton started for injured Ernie Conwell and had two catches for 13 yards. He was targeted twice in the red zone, once from the three yard line that was incomplete and another from the 18 yard line that was stopped well short of the goal line.

2005 Week 11 vs NE (7 / 6 / 72 / 0 rec)

With Ernie Conwell sidelined, Hilton was able to provide Brooks with another viable target. He gained 25 yards on second and twenty six, but the Saints failed to convert. He caught a 20 yard pass on a drive that ended with a field goal, but his one drop earlier in the game would have been another first down.

2005 Week 12 vs NYJ (6 / 3 / 33 / 1 rec)

With Ernie Conwell still sidelined, Hilton had another nice game this week, this time finding the end zone for his first career touchdown. Hilton caught a 16 yard bullet from Brooks over the middle and rumbled into the end zone for the score. Hilton finished the game with three catches for 33 yards and a touchdown.

2005 Week 13 vs TB (7 / 4 / 50 / 0 rec)

Hilton is huge target at the tight end position for QB Aaron Brooks, and Brooks targeted the 6' 8" receiver nine times against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers' "Cover 2" defense gives up a lot of area to the tight end both over the middle and at the sideline, and that is where Hilton lived all day. He finished with 50 yards on four catches, all for first downs. Two of his four other chances were also caught by Hilton, but he lost the credit for the two catches and 14 more yards due to penalties.

2005 Week 14 vs ATL (5 / 4 / 41 / 0 rec)

Hilton was the primary tight end receiving option in the game.

2005 Week 15 vs CAR (3 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

Hilton had just one catch for seven yards and was not a key target in the passing game. He did have an end zone target but the pass was tipped by Carolina linebacker Will Witherspoon.

2005 Week 16 vs DET (8 / 7 / 83 / 0 rec)

Hilton led the team with a career high seven catches for 83 yards. He was targeted frequently in the flat as a Bouman safety valve.

2005 Week 17 vs TB (8 / 5 / 74 / 0 rec)

Hilton led the Saints in receiving, with 74 yards on five catches and was thrown to nine times.
