Recent Game Summaries
2016 Week 13 vs DET (2 / 1 / 3 / 0 rec)
Hill's lone catch came on a dump-off on a third down in the second quarter in which Brees faced ample pressure. He was slow to get up after the play, injuring his right ankle, and did not return to the contest.
2016 Week 12 vs LA (6 / 6 / 74 / 0 rec)
Hill's big day began in the second quarter, running a stick route from the right slot for five yards. He ran a shallow crossing route later in the half, finding space over the middle for eight yards and a third-down conversion. Hill followed it up on the very next play with a 35-yard gain on a TE screen from the right flat. Hill sold a pass block before escaping into the flat and following his blockers up the sideline. He caught a checkdown very late in the half, gaining four yards but costing NO precious time without a TO. Hill caught another checkdown on the following down, picking up just one yard to end the half. Hill ran a deep crosser late in the third period, beating his man across the field before being led to the sideline for a 21-yard pickup. The targets are encouraging, but Hill's most productive day of the season cannot be considered a harbinger of things to come.
2016 Week 9 vs SF (4 / 4 / 40 / 0 rec)
Hill found space up the left sideline for his first catch of the day, running a PA vertical route out of a FB alignment to gain an uncovered 32 yards. Hill's next catch came late in the second quarter, a dumpoff to the right flat that picked up two. He caught a shallow crosser for four early in the third quarter, but it fell well short of the first down. The depth TE caught a nearly identical two-yard pass in the right flat for his final statistical contribution of the afternoon.
2016 Week 8 vs SEA (1 / 1 / 3 / 0 rec)
Hill was a checkdown option to the left flat late in the second period, picking up three.
2016 Week 7 vs KC (1 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Hill's lone catch came on a lone flat route early in the fourth quarter to the right side of the field for a modest gain of six.
2016 Week 6 vs CAR (5 / 2 / 23 / 1 rec)
Hill found space up the left sideline for his inaugural reception, elevating over a linebacker for a gain of 15. He fought through tight coverage to receive the game-winning touchdown on a wheel route up the left sideline where he was able to barely land in-bounds in order to successfully complete the eight-yard score.
