Week 3: vs Tennessee Titans

All WR vs TEN

FBG says: Good matchup. Blake Bortles had a career outing last week as he found revenge from last year's AFC title game, posting an impressive stat line by completing 64.4% of his passes for 377 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. This outing was lights out compared to his struggles against the Giants in Week 1, driven by a solid game plan to take advantage of the mismatches given to his receivers in coverage. Bortles relied heavily on short passes to Corey Grant while still finding room to take shots downfield, including a 61-yard touchdown bomb to speedster Dede Westbrook. Grant saw expanded playing time as the primary pass-catching running back with Leonard Fournette sidelined. While he should still see some snaps, expect his role to diminish once Fournette makes it back on the field. After an underwhelming season debut, Keelan Cole had an impressive game last week as one of the top targets in this passing offense, hauling in seven of eight targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. Cole is shaping up to be a high ceiling playmaker with last week marking his third 100+ yard outing in his last five regular season games. Donte Moncrief, on the other hand, had a relatively disappointing outing despite leading the team with nine targets and a touchdown as he managed to haul in only four of those receptions for 35 yards. The volume is there for Moncrief, but he still needs to get more separation and actually hold on to the ball. It is also worth noting that Moncrief incurred a knee injury in the second half last week, but was not listed on the team's injury report to start the week. The Titans front seven were relentless against the poor Texans offensive line last week, applying pressure to Deshaun Watson on virtually every snap. Brian Orakpo had his way with the left side of that Texans offensive line, and he may see an equally positive matchup this week with the Jaguars forced to roll out their backup left tackle due to the season-ending injury to Cam Robinson last week. Jurrell Casey racked up a couple sacks last week while new linebacker Kamalei Correa has made an instant impact for this defense with a sack in back to back outings to start the season. From a coverage perspective though, the Titans still look to be at a disadvantage. Adoree Jackson improved last week after his poor Week 1 showing, but it was Malcolm Butler again getting toasted for a long touchdown now in back to back games. Butler has been effective for most of each game but has shown he can struggle with speed on the longer routes. The Titans safeties have done a solid job over the top though to help limit those big plays to minimal occurrences. Keelan Cole should draw most coverage from Jackson, while Moncrief will square off against Butler. If Moncrief is indeed healthy from that minor knee injury last week, he should be a decent matchup for Butler--but overall, Butler is still the most talented player here despite his deep ball struggles. Cole does get the nod in his matchup against the second-year Jackson, who we have seen struggle more often than not this in his first two outings.
