Week 5: vs Indianapolis Colts

All TE vs IND

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. The Thursday Night game will feature two NFC South rivals clashing in Houston's NRG Stadium. The Texans are banged up coming into this one - Cecil Shorts (shoulder) is out and Nate Washington (hamstring) is also not practicing this week, so rookie Kevin Mumphery (seven targets for 4/56/0 receiving last week) could get the start opposite DeAndre Hopkins (22! targets for 9/157/0 receiving last week) at wide receiver. In addition to the injury woes, the Texans benched starter Ryan Mallett (12/27 for 150 yards passing, zero TDs and one interception thrown last week) in Atlanta after the team was down 0-42 - backup Brian Hoyer threw three TDs against prevent defense but was not elevated to starter (yet), so Mallett will begin this game under center (whether he finishes there is yet to be seen). Outside Hopkins, who gets his no matter which guy is pitching the football, it's hard to be excited about any of the receivers on this chaotic unit. The Colts' pass D allowed 30/47 for 266 yards passing, one TD and zero interceptions to the Jaguars last week, after coughing up 27/44 for 367 yards passing, two TDs and two interceptions to the Titans two games ago. To date, the Colts average 268.0 net passing yards allowed per game, with six passing scores handed over vs. a mediocre three interceptions and just five sacks generated to date (tied for 28th in the NFL). This is a good matchup for the Texans, but it remains to be seen if they can take advantage of it.

Recent Game Summaries

2015 Week 4 vs ATL (6 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)

Graham is supposed to have the best hands to the tight end group but it has been anything but that. He missed two passes from Mallett that went right through his hands and only had one reception on the entire day for six yards. Graham is slowly being looked over at the tight end position.

2015 Week 3 vs TB (1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

A slow day for the tight ends, Graham had the first reception of the game for nine yards but was not looked at again for the rest of the day. He is on the field for plenty of snaps but not much is happening in the target category.

2015 Week 2 vs CAR (5 / 1 / 7 / 1 rec)

Graham did not start the game strong with a drop on the first pass of the game, but he redeemed himself late with a one handed touchdown that was one handed tap back of the end zone. Graham is the best pass catcher of the tight end group and he could continue to get targets with only two healthy tight ends on the roster.
