Week 7: vs Arizona Cardinals

All RB vs ARI

FBG says: Tough matchup. Todd Gurley had another big day for the Rams rushing offense last week, finishing with 23 carries for 116 yards--good for an average of five yards per attempt. This marks Gurley's third game over 110 rushing yards. While he has been held without a rushing touchdown for three weeks in a row, Gurley is putting together plenty of productivity on the ground with his 4.1 yards per carry average so far this season. Gurley is now averaging right at 20 carries per game, as no other Rams running backs come close to threatening his workload. The Rams offensive line has also done a great job opening things up for Gurley this season, proving to be effective yet again this past week. The Cardinals have been tough against the run this season, allowing only 94.8 rushing yards per game. This past week was another impressive outing as the Cardinals limited the Buccaneers to only 68 rushing yards, with lead back Doug Martin averaging right at 3.8 yards per rush. While this rushing yardage total could have been higher had the Cardinals not jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead, the Cardinals front seven still looked good in their limited opportunities against the run. The interior of that line has been very impressive this season, particularly in run defense with Corey Peters anchoring the unit. Starting nose tackle Xavier Williams suffered a knee injury in the third quarter of last week's game though, so his status will important for this unit to continue their success against the run.
