Week 4: at Arizona Cardinals
All RB vs ARI
Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. Todd Gurley did appear in the Week Three game for St. Louis, albeit in a minor role (6/9/0 rushing with one target for 1/5/0 receiving). He'll continue to work towards 'football shape' this week. Gurley said on Monday that it will take him some time to get back up to speed after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last year. Gurley added that he doesn't expect his knee to be very sore this week. Tre Mason (9/16/0 rushing with one target for 1/16/0 receiving) and Benny Cunningham (1/12/0 rushing with two targets for 2/18/0 receiving) didn't do much vs. Pittsburgh, either - Gurley has a clear path to the starting gig once he has his body back into top condition.
San Francisco posted 23/109/1 rushing at Arizona last week - Chicago managed 28/109/1 rushing vs. the Cardinals two games ago. To date, the Cardinals' defensive front averages 88.7 rushing yards allowed per game, with two rushing scores given up, but they've been a little more generous than the average indicates over the recent past.
This looks like a tough matchup for the underwhelming Rams' backfield.
