Week 3: at Baltimore Ravens

All TE vs BAL

FBG says: Tough matchup. Case Keenum isn't a flashy passer - in fact, he's one of the league's least-efficient throwers of the deep ball. But with an imposing ground game and defense in place, he's been the game manager the team sorely needs. Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch were low-skilled guys who could seemingly only turn the ball over with precision. But Keenum is a smart passer who works well off play-action and works his receivers into big plays. He has thrown four interceptions thus far but keeps balancing them out with sharp situational throws and methodical drives. Most importantly, he's putting Emmanuel Sanders (231 yards on 14 targets) and his tight ends (128 on 16) in position to make plays. He and Sanders have an especially strong connection; the two were inseparable during camp and the preseason, and their bond looks rock-solid in real play. There won't be many fireworks in this passing game, but there's finally enough skill to keep Sanders and Demaryius Thomas involved and fantasy-relevant. The Ravens pass defense is, generally speaking, better than it looked last Thursday night. The pass rush, led by ageless Terrell Suggs and a crew of situational guys, remains powerful, and outside cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Carr are strong. This unit has suffocated its share of No. 1 wideouts over the past year-plus, including Antonio Brown, A.J. Green, and Adam Thielen. But there's a real deficiency in the slot, where Tavon Young and the team's lackluster safeties continue to struggle. Last week, Green's most egregious touchdown came by out-positioning Young for a soft, short toss and outmuscling him into open space. To be fair, Green did beat the other two for touchdowns as well. But that's just who Green is, and it doesn't absolve Young for being beaten consistently by Tyler Boyd over the rest of the evening. Overall, this is a tougher group than most to throw against. But there are situational gaps that can be and are exploited at times.
