Week 7: vs Kansas City Chiefs

All TE vs KC

FBG says: Neutral matchup. Joe Flacco has been far from spectacular this season, and he is coming off a couple of lackluster games with fewer than 190 passing yards and two interceptions to just one touchdown. Flacco has now thrown an interception in five straight games and has just one multi-touchdown game this season. With backup Drew Lock still sidelined, Flacco is all this passing offense has and will continue to lead the Broncos for the foreseeable future. His favorite and most consistent target continues to be Courtland Sutton. Sutton has led the team in targets for four straight weeks and has finished with over 60 receiving yards in all but one game this season. He has averaged over 20 yards per reception over the course of his last two games as Sutton has been getting open downfield and making some great catches. Emmanuel Sanders had been playing through a knee injury that limited him in the past two games, and while it appeared he suffered a setback last week, he has been a full participant in practice and should be ready for Thursday. Both Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay offer viable check-down options from the backfield, but the passing workload between them has been evenly split (26 targets each) and rather unpredictable so far this season. The Chiefs passing defense continues to play decent football considering how terrible they are playing against the run. Last week, they forced two interceptions for the second time this season while limiting Deshaun Watson to just one passing touchdown. They have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in just two of six games this season, however, last week was the first high-quality passing offense they had played thus far. Charvarius Ward has been their best cornerback in coverage while Bashaud Breeland has struggled on the other side. This duo did have success in limiting both T.Y. Hilton and DeAndre Hopkins to disappointing stat lines in the past two weeks, but they by no means are capable of consistently shutting down opposing WR1's. Both Courtland Sutton and Emmanuel Sanders should still have an advantage in this one, especially considering the lack of pressure a banged-up Chiefs defensive line is generating right now. It is also worth noting that this defense has given up the second-most receiving yards (72) and receptions (8) per game to the tight end position. While they have limited any one tight end from having a particularly massive game, they have consistently been allowing production to that position which could bode well for Noah Fant to have somewhat of a breakout game this week.
