He got open down the left sideline with seconds left in the first half, but Osweiler overthrew him badly. Fowler was targeted on a slant route late in the 4th quarter but let the pass careen off his hands. Fowler also returned one punt for a short gain.
2017 Week 15 vs IND (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Fowler saw limited offensive snaps, but drew an offensive pass interference call on his only target in the 3rd quarter.
2017 Week 13 vs MIA (4 / 1 / 23 / 0 rec)
Fowler took the majority of snaps with Thomas and Sanders in three-receiver sets. He had a diving catch down the left sideline for a big gain early in the 2nd quarter, his only reception of the game.
2017 Week 12 vs OAK (4 / 3 / 33 / 1 rec)
Fowler and Latimer rotated in the third receiver spot alongside starters Thomas and Sanders. Fowler had a step on his man on a fly route down the right sideline for what could have been a big gain on Lynch's first pass attempt, but the QB overthrew the open receiver. Later in the 4th quarter, backup QB Siemian found Fowler up the seam for gain of 8 and again on a crossing route on the next play for 3 more yards. Fowler lined up in a triple WR set on the left side of the formation late in the 4th, shaking his defender with a nice double move before flying up the seam for a 22 yard touchdown reception from Siemian.
2017 Week 11 vs CIN (1 / 1 / 18 / 0 rec)
Fowler lined up in the left slot and ran a short out route in the 1st, spinning away from his first tackler and darting up the sideline for an 18 yard gain. He was not targeted again in the contest.
2017 Week 9 vs PHI (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Fowler took a backseat as Sanders returned to the offensive lineup. Though active, he played minimally on offense and was not targeted.
2017 Week 8 vs KC (6 / 2 / 35 / 0 rec)
Fowler worked as the 2nd receiver opposite Demaryius Thomas with Emmanuel Sanders missing another week. Siemian targeted Fowler with two targets on the opening drive, both low passes that bounced off the turf. Fowler caught a crossing route in the 2nd quarter that failed to pick up a 3rd and long. Fowler caught a slant route inside the Kansas City 10 yard line early in the 2nd quarter. Fowler caught a WR screen and wove his way through defenders for a 29 yard gain in the 3rd quarter, Denver's longest play of the day. Siemian hit Fowler in the end zone in the 3rd quarter on a 3rd and 7 play but the receiver let the touchdown clang off his hands. Fowler had another bad drop in the 4th quarter that simply bounced off his open hands.
2017 Week 7 vs LAC (5 / 5 / 45 / 0 rec)
Fowler caught every pass thrown his way in week 7, but unfortunately the poor play of the offense as a whole limited everyone's fantasy production. Fowler worked primarily out of the slot, but moved around the formation some as he filled in for Emmanuel Sanders. He hauled a short out route from the slot in the 1st quarter, and a shallow crossing route from the opposite slot later in the 2nd. He hauled in a skinny post early in the 3rd, just shy of a 1st down on 3rd and 11. Siemian found him for two more short gains in the 4th as the Broncos tried in vain to muster up a comeback.
2017 Week 6 vs NYG (8 / 3 / 21 / 0 rec)
Fowler missed a deep route down the left seam late in the 2nd quarter, but there was some questionable contact from his defender that probably deserved a flag. Siemian targeted him on a corner route in the end zone later in the same drive, but the pass careened off of Fowler's fingertips as he jumped for the catch. Fowler got the target on the next play also, but a linebacker was matching him step for step as he ran a shallow crossing route. With the offense lined up inside the 10 yard line late in the 4th, Fowler ran a shallow crossing route, catching the ball with a linebacker draped over his back. The smothering defender couldn't knock the ball away, but he did bring Fowler inside the 1 yard line. Fowler lined up wide right late in the 4th and caught a comeback route for a 10 yard gain.
2017 Week 4 vs OAK (2 / 2 / 35 / 0 rec)
Fowler secure his first target, a dime throw over his shoulder down the sideline early in the 1st quarter. Later in the same drive, Fowler had a leaping catch on an out route, despite a defender being draped across his back. He was not targeted any later in the game, finishing with 35 yards on the 2 targets. Fowler also had a great special teams play in the 2nd quarter, downing a punt at the 1 yard line.
2017 Week 3 vs BUF (7 / 4 / 55 / 0 rec)
Fowler returned from concussion protocol and continues to carve out a role in the offense behind primary targets Thomas and Sanders. Siemian targeted Fowler 7 times, connecting on 4 passes for 55 yards. Fowler made a beautiful leaping catch on a contested ball in the 1st quarter, picking up a big gain and a first down on 3rd and long. Fowler stretched out for another impressive catch on an out route later in the 4th. Fowlers target total was considerably higher than the rest of the Broncos behind Thomas and Sanders, and he seems to have a growing chemistry with Siemian.
2017 Week 2 vs DAL (3 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)
Fowler looked to build on his successful week 1, operating out of the slot with Thomas and Sanders in 3WR sets. He missed his first target of the day, but made a diving catch on a slant route for his 2nd. Fowler had a scary moment later in the drive as he made an amazing diving catch over the left pylon, but landed out of bounds on his head. He popped up quickly but lurched forward and fell into two Dallas players, then staggered to his feet before turning and falling again. Fowler left the game under the concussion protocol and did not return.
2017 Week 1 vs LAC (4 / 3 / 21 / 2 rec)
Fowler posted a career night. His first catch was a 10 yard out route in the 1st quarter. Fowler scored soon after on a broken play when San Diego jumped offsides before the snap. Siemian called for the ball, scrambled right and hit Fowler, who made a great diving effort on the catch, in the back of the end zone for the first points of the game. Fowler caught another touchdown pass in the third quarter, flexing just off the offensive line and running a quick route up the seam for a quick touchdown pass from Siemian. Fowler played about half the Broncos offensive snaps, most of them from the slot. His two touchdowns were a career high, but he was only targeted 3 times all night.
