Week 12: at Baltimore Ravens
FBG says: Tough matchup. Since Deshaun Watson's injury, the Houston run game has predictably fallen a peg or two. And its only source of dynamism, impressive rookie runner Donta Foreman, was just lost for the year to an Achilles' tear. Tom Savage's quarterbacking scares absolutely no one, and his mobility is even less of a threat, so defenses have been able to key relentlessly on Lamar Miller. Miller's "who cares?" season is now even harder, and he's never a safe projection behind his ho-hum 2017 average of 60.4 ground yards. With only Miller and trudging backup Alfred Blue running behind this shaky offensive line (our Matt Bitonti currently ranks it 26th in football), this looks to remain a low-impact unit, one that will have to rely on volume for real fantasy value. Frankly, it's a hands-off unit apart from the rare instances in which Savage is able to keep the Texans competitive enough to afford Miller 20+ attempts - and even then, "who cares?" is generally the proper response. There's a decent floor in place here for Miller, but a rock-hard weekly ceiling. The Ravens run defense remains inconsistent, but has trended toward the smothering of late. After a truly brutal stretch from Weeks 3-7, in which opponents averaged a stunning 169.4 yards per game, things have settled to just 63.7 over the last 3. That includes an impressive Week 9 in which Baltimore neutralized Tennessee's powerful running game, to the tune of just 45 combined yards for DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry. It seems clear now that the key to this unit is nose tackle Brandon Williams; his return to the field has allowed the Ravens' mediocre linebackers to attack the ball at the line, rather than pursue runners onto the second level. All told, this looks like a unit set to give the Texans' trudging run game fits.

Recent Game Summaries
2017 Week 11 vs ARI (10 / 65 / 2 rush, 3 / 3 / 15 / 0 rec)
It was Foreman's most productive day his rookie season rushing for 65 yards and catching 3 passes for 15 yards. His two touchdown runs keyed the Texans victory and on his first run for the 3 yard touchdown, he showed patience and sifted his way into the end zone. As for his big run of 34 yard where he ran outside to the right and outran everyone to the end zone. The only issue is that he tore his Achilles when he got to the end zone. Which will ultimately end his season and on the injured reserve.
2017 Week 9 vs IND (11 / 37 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
The Texans flipped back to D'Onta Foreman as the primary back up and did the dirty work today in the run game. Foreman had 11 rushes for 37 yards and he kept in mainly inside the tackles. He did have a drop in the passing game but over all the touches were there but he couldn't get going.
2017 Week 6 vs CLE (12 / 59 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
D'Onta Foreman is slowly getting the hang of the Texans offense and rushed for 59 yards on the day. He is the better back of the two but he just lacks feel with the offense most of the time. This Sunday Foreman had some explosive runs and his longest coming on a 39 yard run that he should have scored on. Foreman cut back into the defender where he was tackled at the two yard line. Foreman has those plays in him and when he gets the complete playbook down he will be the feature back of the offense.
2017 Week 4 vs TEN (13 / 45 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
The Texans are trying to get Foreman jump started with the offense and trying to get him in early but O'Brien is picking his spots to put the rookie in. Foreman had a nice 16 yard run that saw him cut through the line of scrimmage and bounce it outside to eat up yards. Foreman has to find consistency on the field and quit bouncing everything outside and right now, Foreman is struggling some in pass protection. Those two factors will limit Foreman's time on the field for the time being but he will continue to be put in games on 1st and 2nd down.
2017 Week 3 vs NE (8 / 25 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 65 / 0 rec)
He is considered part of the 1-2 punch for the offense and had 10 touches during the game. His 8 rushes did not amount to much with his longest run only 5 yards. Now, he was able to provide big play ability in the passing game with receptions for 34 and 31 yards where he broke one tackle after the initial pass was caught and then was off to the races. Foreman has shown in the preseason that he has this ability and right now he is providing much needed help to the offense.
2017 Week 2 vs CIN (12 / 40 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
The Texans finally turned to Foreman in the running game it, in turn, helped with Lamar Miller later in the game. Foreman had 61 yards on the gourd but more impressive was his yards after contact. Foreman led the Texans down the field on a three solid runs, running though arm tackles. The drive stalled out due to a false start inside their own 10 but it is clear Foreman is getting looks in short yardage situations. His usage is expected to go up in the coming weeks and O'Brien has made that clear.
