Week 7: at Green Bay Packers
All RB vs GB
Mark and Joe say: Tough matchup. This is one of the storied rivalries of the NFC, so look for a spirited battle between these NFC North teams on Thursday.
Chicago comes in with a new starting running back, Jordan Howard, who stumbled a bit vs. Jacksonville last weekend (15/34/1 rushing with four targets for 2/6/0 receiving), opening the door to KaDeem Carey (9/50/0 rushing with one target for zero receptions). However, Carey is still nursing a sore hamstring and was limited in Tuesday's practice before the Thursday Night Football contest, while Jeremy Langford remains sidelined as of Week Seven, so we'll likely see Howard in the lead role again on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.
Up until last week the Packers were averaging 42.8 rushing yards allowed per game (first in the NFL at that time), but then Ezekiel Elliott laid 28/157/0 rushing on the Packers (and Dallas wound up with 33/191/0 as a team) - now, Green Bay averages 72.4 rushing yards allowed per game (second in the NFL), but they still have only given out one rushing score all year. From Week Four to Week Six of regular season (the last three weeks), Green Bay averages 14.2 fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs per game (ninth-least in the NFL).
This is still a tough matchup in a tough stadium to visit despite what Elliott did last weekend.
