Week 16: at Pittsburgh Steelers
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. This game has profound playoff implications for both teams - look for a hard-fought contest.
Alex Smith cruised to a fine performance against the raiderless Raiders last weekend, throwing 18/30 for 297 yards passing, two TDs and zero interceptions, with one sack taken for -2 yards. Knile Davis (two targets for 1/70/1 receiving) and Travis Kelce (six for 5/59/1) handled the TDs for Smith, while Dwayne Bowe (seen for 3/69/0) and Albert Wilson (five for 3/69/0) kept the chains moving in this phase of the game.
The Steelers's pass D is ranked 25th in the NFL averaging 252.9 net passing yards allowed per game, with 28 passing scores given out (two per game on average) vs. a mere nine interceptions and only 24 sacks generated so far (25th- and 27th-ranked in the NFL, respectively). There isn't much this pass D does well, friends. Matt Ryan lit them up for 26/37 yielding 310 yards passing, two TDs and one interception thrown last week (zero sacks taken).
Advantage, Kansas City.
