Recent Game Summaries

2018 Week 3 vs WAS (11 / 4 / 23 / 0 rec - 2.3 points, $6100)

Randall Cobb caught four passes for 23 yards on 11 targets in the Packers week three loss to the Redskins. This was a bad game for Cobb, as not only did he have a catch rate of 36%, he also committed two egregious drops on third down in the first half, and on fourth down in the second half. Both were critical plays with the Packers trying to gain momentum and get back in the game. Still, it was his fumble in the 4th quarter that ended the game that was probably his worst play. It was a weak play that Allison, Adams or Graham would not have fumbled, and it ended what could have been one Cobb's worst games as a professional.

2018 Week 2 vs MIN (6 / 4 / 30 / 0 rec - 5 points, $6200)

Randall Cobb caught four passes for 30 yards on six targets against the Vikings on Sunday. As opposed to week one where he was the primary target for Rodgers, Cobb had a very quiet day. He caught passes of 14 yards, three yards, four yards and nine yards. Cobb was targeted deep down the field on two of his other targets but failed to come up with the catches, including one that went for an interception that was luckily overturned due to other off-setting penalties. In addition, Cobb also muffed a punt that he was able to recover before the Vikings were right there on top of him. All in all, not a banner day for Cobb.

2018 Week 1 vs CHI (10 / 9 / 142 / 1 rec - 24.7 points, $6200)

Randall Cobb caught nine passes for 142 yards and the game winning touchdown against the Bears on Sunday night. Cobb caught nine of 11 targets and did most of his work in the short passing game, although he did have a 29 yard catch prior to his 75 yard touchdown. Cobb only has one 1,000 yard season on his resume, in 2014, but it seems that fantasy managers have been talking about him breaking out every year since then. With Jordy Nelson now in Oakland, Cobb looks like he is poised for another big season. Cobb's 75 yard game winning touchdown came deep in the 4th quarter with the Packers down six points. Cobb ran a shallow in-route, and had the presence of mind to sit his route down in the middle of the field as Aaron Rodgers worked to escape pressure in the pocket. Rodgers hit Cobb 12 yards down the field, and Cobb turned around to find no Chicago defender within ten yards of him. Cobb took off up the middle of the field before breaking outside to the right sideline. He then cut it back to the middle of the field at the Bears 10 yard line to escape a Chicago defender and waltzed into the end zone without so much as a tap by a Bears defender until a last gasp effort at the one yard line. The play was a major blunder for the Bears, but Cobb deserves the credit for keeping himself in the play and allowing Rodgers to find him open in the middle of the field.
